Does anyone feel as if they've spoiled the movie for themselves?

I'm glad I at least found out about the part of the film that will irk most fellow fans- [blackout]Venom dissolving into symbiotic goo.[/blackout] If I would have seen that on the big screen without some time to mull over it I would have probably come back from the movie ranting and raving. Now that I know it gives me some mental acceptance of it's relevancy to the story.

Yeah I feel a bit spoiled but I'm not going to blame it on the spoiler forum. I blame it on the trailers. They give away so much and you don't even have to be on a forum to know that. I was hoping for a big surprise and now I feel like I won't get it. Hopefully there is still something surprising about the movie.

Hmm Not sure about this.

Sure trailers are there to give the audience the spirit of the story and an urge to want to see it on the cinema. We all know this. Now when I watched the last Spidey 3 trailer I only think some of flashes are spoilers when you know what happens in the movie. Having read the novelization I know what happens and so when I watched the trailer I was like "ah that is the part where...". Other people who know nothing about the film would have no way to do this.

In my opinion for a trailer to spoil you, you already have to be spoiled :)

That's just one opinion, and I am sure someone is going to come and say "actually...it has happened to me I knew nothing about [insert film name here] and I saw trailer and it spoiled it..."

And they'd be lying...in order for you to really process what happens in a movie trailer you have to have some idea what's coming. Or you have to see it over and over again. Or you have to watch it frame by frame. None of these conditions apply to someone with merely a casual interest in Spider-man 3.

I feel like I've seen too much. When I go to the theater to watch the movie, I am already going to know what happens. It's going to be like "Oh this is the part when... and now this is when... oh Peter should be doing this now... oh yeah and now this is happening..."

Perhaps I just feel that the trailers have shown too much, and I've spoiled a lot of the surprise for myself, especially now that I know what Venom looks like. I'm a little pissed at myself.

I was just going to make a post about this actually. Every where you look its SM3. Every time me and my GF go to the movies its a SM3 trailer. All over the internet SM3 trailers, sneak peaks, behind the scenes.. My gf hates it now, she says she feels like she has seen the movie and is sick of seeing SM3 and will be glad when the movie is out so she doesnt have to see it anymore. I am the same way I feel now a days they give too much away and that the movie would be a lot better without 20 different trailers and special footage. ITs not like the movie wont do well without it. And now heck even I am kinda sick of SM3 and I have not even seen the movie itself.

Nope not me. I've just seen the trailers/TV spots/blogs shown. I have managed to steer away from the novelization thread so far. Reading all of that is just a little extreme. I think it would really take away from my SM3 experience.

So, I'm good.

Oh the irony. I predict a contradiction and instead I get an agreement :)

Well it is nice to have someone agree with me, thanks :D
