Smallville's Mxy kind of sucked. I don't mind a Mxy with more serious moments, such as when he was acting as Clark's de facto spirit guid in Rucka's Adventures of Superman, but he should still be whimsical and cartoony.

Post Crisis. I don't even recognize "post infinite crisis." Anyway, what happened was that The Joker, at one point, stole Mxyzptlk's powers and used them to wreak havok. When Mxy took them back, a little bit stayed with The Joker. That little bit of power grew a mind of it's own and became Batmite.
