It as actually turned into a mini-series but it was basically a 4 hour film (2hrs) in the US.
It was about the testing of blending monkeys with humans and starred a half breed known as Chad.
Chad was an experiment deemed not needed anymore so was to be put down. He does not like the sound of this so escapes murdering practically everybody in the hospital.
Can't remember much more because it was long time ago (15 years to be exact)
While it may look tame I remember it coming out when I was six in 1991. You never actually got to see the creature Chad until I think it was near enough the third episode, but you saw glimpses of him. The eventually he was revealed on the front page of papers all over the UK.
I believe it was called Monkey Boy in america.
