Scenes from scary movies you remember in childhood that freaked you out.

I remember watching "Creepshow" on HBO or Cinemax as a little kid. Practically everything about that movie scared the **** out of me back then, especially the crate monster segment:

and of course this scene:

I don't think I slept that night.

I remember creeping out by the roach story a hell of alot.

That and in the sequel the story on the lake.

It sound so stupid right now...but the witch looking into her globe in The Wizard of Oz...it was a recurring thing in my nightmares...that and the hydra from Hercules :o

The dream would start out with her looking through the glass and laughing maniacally. The image on the globe would be of me on a carnival like ride that involved live hydra (the mythological creature) as the seats. As I would go round and round on them, they would try eating me...

First Leprechaun movie, "This old man he played one, He played pogo on my lung" **** flipped me out when I was like 8 or so. I never knew why either

The intro of Scream, it was 6th grade. My parents were awesome and took me to this...

Saw Jurassic Park in theater when I was 5 or 6 and the scene where the t-Rex shows up scared the he'll out of me.

Also Ghostbusters 2, for some reason talking painting seriously freaked me out lol.

I gotta say, when Dorothy was crying in the Witch's chamber and she looks into her globe and sees her aunt, then it switches over to the Witch mokcing and laughing at her, that freaked me out.

I just watched parts of the movie on YouTube and I gotta say, I was impressed with the "werewolf" scene. Pretty sweet effects for 1985. :word:

Quint's death from Jaws scared the crap out of me growing up. To this death his scream during that scene still gives me an eerie feeling.

Yeah, that's what got me :csad:

The seat-jumper ending of the original Friday the 13th, with young Jason popping out of the water. I'd never watched it before, and all the other scares prior to it didn't get to me, but that one actually made my heart skip a beat seeing it for the first time.
I watched this when I was probably about 8-9. Really freaked me out!

I was about 13 when I saw Exorcist 3. This was the one scene that scared the s*** out of me!

The flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz always freaked me out as a youth.

Absolutely. And knowing his background serving on that destroyer gave it a real depth.

The baboon gatting turned "inside out" in the teleporter pod in The Fly.

The scene where the dog transformed in The Thing. I literally ran out of the room screaming.

The scene where the tent got attacked and the ending to The Blair Witch Project all screwed me up something fierce.

#thatsfortrue

Linda Blair bouncing backwards and forward on her bed in the excorcist and the clown scene from Poltergeist. Actually that whole movie scared the living bejesus out of me.

The dragging scene in Paranormal Activity actually made me say "OH funny" REALLY loudly when I watched it.
