Scenes from scary movies you remember in childhood that freaked you out.

I can't believe no-one's said this yet...

Murphy's death in RoboCop, I was only like 5, 6 when I saw it... and wow.

AND RoboCain from RoboCop 2 or something... I had nightmares. O_O

Oh yeah, I didn't mention it because when I read the article at start, I was only thinking scary movies. But yeah, I still cringe when I see that scene.

Halloween 2 was truly my first horror movie and really messed me up for awhile. When I was young I was a HUGE Godzilla fan (still am lol) and that particular day I saw a TV ad for a Godzilla movie coming on at like 2-3 in the morning. Of course I knew my parents wasn't going to let me stay up that late so I snuck out in the living room and flipped through channel after channel trying to find this damn movie (this was when there were no remote controls, just a big grey box with 120 channels lol). I couldn't find Godzilla but ended up on the opening of Halloween 2 which had me hooked from the start. I couldn't turn away from it. So I sat there in the dark like an idiot being scared to death. At the end of the movie I was so paralyzed from fear that I couldn't even walk back down the dark hallway to my room. I was scared the guy was going to come out of the shadows and just snatch me up. I ended up falling asleep on the living room floor :funny:

The one part that made my hair stand up on the back of my neck and messed me up was when the nurse arrives at the hospital and the camera pans down to her rear view mirror and you see Michael standing there with the most demented psycho look ever. And to pour salt in the wound not long after I got mono and had to spend nearly 2 weeks in the hospital. So every night I was scared out of my mind in that place. It was dark and quiet and every little sound passing my door made me cringe. It took all I had to even get up and go to the bathroom at night.

Metamorpho, your avvy is scaring the **** out of me.

You shouldn't have been scared of your cat but happy whenever you saw it.

It was probably protecting you every night from the little troll who was standing on your chest sucking your soul out while you were unaware. :awesome:

yeah, i don't know, as a kid i interpreted it wrong...when the parents came in and thought the cat was suffocating the girl. I thought my own cat was really capable of doing that while i slept.

I use to be scared of the Arnolds face in Total Recall when he was exposed to Mars' atmosphere.....

Zelda from pet Semetary. She terrified the hell out of me. Still does somewhat. By far Kings creepiest character. As far as his movies go.

Another one...the scene in The Dead Zone where the killer commits suicide by falling face first on a pair of scissors with his mouth open. Ick. :wow:

I havent even seen the whole movie yet, but I've watched that scene. One of the few things that might actually be more awesome in the adaptation than in King's books.

That's Chronenberg for ya. That scene works so well though because of what you don't see.

The part in Ghostbusters where sigourney Weaver gets dragged into the same room as Zhuul so she can be possessed was pretty scary for me as a kid.

Also, forsome reason, the abominable snowman from the claymation rudolph the rednosed reindeer christmas special...I think there's a part where he rushes at the screen that freaked me out, but it's hard to remember.

Something just hit me that used to scare me. GI Joe: The Movie. Mostly Cobra Commanders transformation, and the entire final battle over the spores and the BET. Even today I find it rather creepy, and disturbing when he shoves the rod into Globulus' eye.

Also, Unicron from Transformers: The Movie. Just that wicked voice, and the fact that he was eating planets and the robots/people on them.

The scene in the horror movie Frost where Frosty the snowman rapes the woman with an icicle.

Stephen Kings' Silver Bullet use to scare me when I was little, I know it's not just one scene but the movie as a whole was scarry to me. I can still watch SB and get spoked if I'm really getting into the movie.

:hehe: I came in here to say the same thing. What an obscure coincidence. For awhile, I always turned on the hot water first in shower, to make sure no killer snowman could come in through the drain.

Carrie.... The Hand.... 2 months without sleep.
Salem's Lot.... First Look at Vampire.... unable to sleep for a year.
The Ring... still awake.

One more scene that has always freaked me out, as gory as it is, I can never turn away.

The subway scene in An American Werewolf in London literally gave me a nightmare.

This freaked me out too. It didn't help with his screaming.

"GEAAAAAAHHHH NYYAAA NAAAAA NYAAAAAA!"
