Does anyone think that Doctor Manhattan being a watchmaker partly influenced Sylar?

I'm rereading watchmen and it just occurred to me that both Sylar and Doctor Manhattan are watchmaker's sons who end up the most powerful beings on the planet...

I was wondering if anyone else ever saw that or if I was disillusion and crazy.

IMO this whole entire series took bits of pieces of the WM plot.

Yeah, I'd say that's definitely one of the most concrete elements of Heroes that was taken from Watchmen.
Watch the episode from Volume 3, Villains, I can't remember which episode it is, but it's when Arthur brings Sylar to where Elle's being kept and she starts zapping Sylar and there's a shot that's like a carbon copy of the shot where Osterman gets zapped and becomes Doc Manhattan.
When that episode first aired I reacted like "Holy ****, Watchmen."

Ohhhhh yeah! I remember that! He was all exploding with blue light like Doctor Manhattan while she was lighting him up like a Christmas tree. Good eye, man.
