...Peter is Spider-Man??

There's one scene (42nd minute) that always makes me think that.

What do you think?
Does he know Peter's secret?
Or will he find it out in Spider-Man 3?

Good question. Am sure it was probably discussed at length on these boards in May 2004.

He certainly gives Peter a look which is a bit more than a "I like Spidey too, and I know you know him cos you take his pictures"-type look.

He might know and keep it to him self because JJ would prob laugh at him and say a line like "If he is Spider-Man how does he take pictures of him self??"

That's the ENTIRE point of that little sequence.

I was hoping Robbie becomes Peter's father-figure in Spidey 3, but it looks like Captain Stacy has that.

Haha... that's definitely Jonah :D

It definetely seems he has a hint, especially that way he looks at Pete in the second movie.

I'm sure he knows.

Green Goblin knows
Doc Ock knows
Mary Jane knows
Robbie knows
Aunt May knows
Harry knows
All the people on the train know

I don't think it's a secret anymore.

One would think Robbie would have put the pieces together... But unfortunately...
He's mentally ******ed.

Aunt May knows??

Are you basing this on her little speech in the back yard??

Watch it again, from the fight scene after the bank (why else would he just "leave her") to "the speech" (look at the facial expressions and take note of the "don't strain yourself" line, her way of trying to respect his secret).

"Everybody else knows". ;)

She knows, and so does Robbie, Gobby, train passengers etc... pretty much everyone else except Scotty. ;) :o

I always thought he would have used his traditional excuse of disappearing in the scene because he was getting a camera to take pics for the Bugle. He did it all the time in the comics. It is how he makes his cash.

As for the "Don't strain yourself" line. Aunt May always thought of Peter as fragile and sensitive. Not to mention it's the type of thing old ladies would say. They fret about things like that. Especially with loved ones. Aunt May sure did in the comics.

I think Robbie is certainly suspicious of Peter, but I don't think Aunt May knows just because of the backyard speech.

I did not get the impression that Aunt May knows, but I definitely got that drift from Robbie. That scene with Robbie is actually one of my fav moments from Spidey2.

But Aunt May does the exact same thing that Robbie does when the Jackson kid is asking Peter about the whereabouts of Spider-man!

yeah, I mean, Robbie is like, " heard spiderman was there..."(gives look)
then peter gives a look like, "oh k-rap!!"

I think Robbie is very suspicious but he is a newspaper man and can't confirm it for sure. Remember he and Cap Stacy were friends in the comics and were trying to figure it out. I bet there will be a few more hints for Robbie knowing but overall I don't think he knows for sure and respects Spider-Man too much to be investigating it and I think he will give that sentiment in the third one (hopefully).

As for good ol' Aunt May. I'm pretty sure she knows. I think after the rescue and Peter admitting what he did wrong with Uncle Ben she puts two and two together. Because her speech is so knowing and she seems like she is trying to push him to be responsible again. And if she does die in the third part I do expect an ASM #400 revelation. I expect more to come out of this than did for Robbie now though.

of course he knows it... Robbie's a smart fellow... you can also tell the way he looks at Peter...

Uhh yeah...I think its still a secret. :o

If you listen in the commentaries for this particular scene, Tobey and Sam are talking about whether Robbie knows, and how Tobey tried to look uncertain while playing Peter on this subject. He gives a kind of "Does he know?" look on his face.

Also, when Spidey quits, Robbie has a dissapointed look out of a window while holding his costume in JJJ's office. I don't know whether it was just because he was a fan of spider-man, or maybe knew Peter quit too and felt bad for him. Maybe a litte of both.
