For that matter, is anything the Weapon X program produces cost effective? Considering every super soldier they’ve ever produced either runs away, or ends up dead. So in the government’s eyes, how could they justify their existence? For the amount of money it takes to create a Wolverine, Lady Deathstryke, or anyone else that undergoes a transformation into a nearly unstoppable assassin, wouldn’t it be easier for the Government to “buy” their way in/out of a situation/assassination through independent mercenaries.

Sure most Governments need training facilities, test subjects and equipment for technological superiority over their competitor, and for their own military forces, but if it’s been proven through many attempts to create the ultimate soldier, and those subjects are defecting through the Weapon X program, why not try a different approach… Or cancel the program all together.

LOL
you make a very good point.
I think its funny, there are so few mutants left now, for the price of creating a whole load of Massive robotic sentinels and keep running, fixing and upgrading them, It would be a lot more cost effective to just pay every mutant a few hundred thousand dollars or so just to not cause any more trouble.

WeaponX is a canadian program, of course it fails repeatedly. I always assumed that we only hear about the failures/runaways

Weapon X is almost as sloppy as Apocalypse when it comes to goons.

except apocalypse likes it when his guys come back and bite him in the ass

There's another pointless and useless program... The O.N.E., and the Sentinel program. I mean, having the goverment sponsor an act where giant robots seek and destroy mutants because of mass public hysteria, then contradict that same movement years later, because the mutant population has drastically decreased, is preposterous. Now they feel they need to protect the very same mutants they tried to kill, and protect them from the very same human population they swore their alliance to in te first place...

Boy, talk about your democratic society.... :whatever:

So Apocalypse likes it up the back door, eh?

He so needs to get Northstar as his next Horseman.

does ANY government institute do anything thats cost effective, except for maybe the IRS?
