Wondering if the choices of spiders on Peter and Venom's chest are representative of particular spiders or random artist creations.

Any insight, opinions about the spiders we've seen for the upcoming film?

Oh, you are going to get absolutely slaughtered. Welcome to the hype!

hmm I always imagined Venom being the big nasty scary evil killer tarantula compared to spidey being the ordinary happy house spider so maybe that's what they'll base it on...

A nice, very nice lady from a zoo kame to my zoology class and presented all sorts of different classes of spiders to us there in school so I know there's a bunch to choose from...

when I first saw the black spidey chest emblem, I imediately thought, "Araneomorphae, bich" but I'll stick with my idea that the venom may still be inspired by the tarantuala more cuz it's fangs scare me like venom's do.

I always kind of assumed the same. That the symbol for the black costume was based off of a tarantula. Interesting.

wiki says venoms symbol is a black widow =/

Brown recluse seems to fit the bill imo.

That's supposed to be like the most poisonous spider on the planet

I wouldnt say its a slaughterworthy question, seemed fair enough to me. Maybe asked in the wrong section as movie venom hasnt been seen yet but its a question ive never thought about before.

It's poisonous but it's not the worst. The Brazilian Wandering Spider is the most dangerous one. The recluse's bite will scar you for life as it induce necrosis but it rarely kills.

I was actually wondering the same thing the other day, looking at a drawing of Venom. The legs are all scrunched together at the top, but it does sort of resemble a Brown Recluse. I don't think it was actually based on any real spider, I think they just tried to make the spider-symbol more menacing looking. Here's a question: was Venom already planned out when Spidey first got his black costume, or did they make him up as they went along?

realistically, i think it's simply artistic flair...

any resemblence is purely coincidental...

especially since spidey's doesn't look anything like the spider that bit him...

they made up Venom after they decided to ditch the new black spider-man costume because the fans wouldn't stop whining like the bunch of babies they are.

mcfarlane said once it was supposed to be a turantula (big spider) but it obviously took a bit of an artistic licence
*edit: I forget where.. maybe at an interview regarding spawn and spider-man comparisons... hmm wish I could find it again

the logo was on spider-woman first though.... and I think it was supposed to be a black widow.. although it didn't fit

make the chest look bigger etc.

I live in Oklahoma which is almost right in the middle of Brown Recluse (aka Fiddle Back) country and I immediately saw the similarity. On a side note, these guys are nasty. The bite won't kill you, but when you see the amount of damage and tissue necrosis you may wish for death. I know several people who have been bitten. I've been lucky. Right now is their breeding season, soo they are out in force.

stupid fans, it's better than the original one, especially at night time...

I always loved the black spidey suit and wished it was used more often. Those two issues of Spider-Man where McFarlane brought it back for Spidey to take on Morbius in the sewer rocked.

Daddy Long Legs? which coincidentally has the Most Deadly Venom of any spider, but i can't break skin soo.

THATS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN U GET BITTIN BY THE BROW RECLUSE. THATS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS AFTER 2 DAYS PRIOR TO THE BITE.

the daddy long legs you think of is actually a crane fly, not a spider...

there is a daddy long leg spider but it resides in austrailia.

as for your facts about the crane fly, it's a misconception...old wives' tale...

That's why I hate spiders. Those bites.

It looks more like a widow spider to me. ....(This next bit is kinda off the subject) Whoever has completed USm the game, will notic that the spider emblem appears on Venom's symbiote costume after you complete it, and its not during actual story mode
