The copyright info on the pottermore website says so.

I hope it isn't true! Harry is Rowling's baby. The whole thing is a labour of her amazing mind!

Don't let it become James Bond or Star Wars. It would kill me!

They probably own the rights or something. And let's not pretend that WB stole HP from her if they do completely own it, she would've sold it herself

But I think WB respects Rowling so much that they are contracted to go through her first before they set anything up.

I hope so. I recently fell in love with the books. Too many things I love have been destroyed.

Based on her various stipulations on the films before, I'd say her contract w/ WB is very specific. Yes, they own the film and media rights, but there's no way JKR is letting them run away with her baby. And they seem to have a very good relationship (much like WB and Nolan), so I highly doubt WB would even try.

She's writing the screenplay to the spin off off Fantastic Beast's so its' not as if she isn't aware of what's happening.

I just don't like the idea of Harry Potter as a comic book.

Geoff Johns on Harry Potter. Let's make event efter event only to have it rebooted by the next team.

I'm getting old. Good stories need a beginning and an end. I'm sick of the neverending comic book bs!

Buy 3 books to read a quip about fathers and sons Darth Vader made between episode IV and V.

Remember how you read comics about Heroes doing heroic acts and saving the Day? Now you get to read about grown men in costumes sitting around a table having conversations about pop culture of the week and how they had sex with she hulk during one of the great epic stories you loved as a kid before comics become an expensive hobby for old guys who miss their childhood.

If Marvel can make Star Wars comics why not Harry Potter comics by DC?
because maybe george lucas's deal with disney was different from jk's deal with WB.

she said specifically she did not want to give them control of the story.

Yet she let them butcher the story to pieces.

she allowed for some pretty important changes which bothered the hell outta me but the story was still intact.

and overtime i think she cared less and less how much liberty they took with the franchise since she was making so much money.

Bah, it was butchered and you damn well know it!!!

i am someone who hated the prisoner of azkaban movie, and that's the fan favorite. how do you think i feel?

You aren't alone, Azkaban is awful. It is easily one of the worst adapted books. I hate that movie.

Because Grant Morrison's take on Potter would scar children for life.

What about Alan Moore's version of Harry Potter? The one where he shoots lightning out of his penis.

the VAST majority of people loved it, though. that's the thing here. it's the highest rated movie outside of the last one and the audience loved it too but to me it is the goddamn worst harry potter movie i have ever seen

Only thing that movie got right was the Dementors looks which could have gone the obvious Ring Wraith rip-off route.
