Has everyone read Downey's words about Batman and more over, DC? There's a man who doesn't seem worried about burning bridges.

You go Robert! If you're going to do it then you go all the way buddy.

Now before anyone chides my for lauding what or how he said it.... I'm just saying again,....if you're going to go for it - then go all the way and do it well.

He's in the entertainment field. That's entertainment!

I think he echos what alot of Marvel fans feel about DC, I give him credit for speaking his mind, it's cool to have a rivalry between DC & Marvel, it makes both better.

This made me laugh my ass off when I heard it! I love a few DC characters, but screw it . . Go RDJ! It always makes me smile when somebody goes against the overwhelming majority, especially so unapolegetically.

Thing is though . . What if he's saying the same thing to Marvel in a few years? He seems like the kind of guy to turn on you 100% if one thing doesn't go the way he wants it to . .

Don't agree with him.
Now that that's out of the way, I can say that he's still one of the coolest mofos on Earth and both IM and TDK (at least to me) were flippin' brilliant.

I may not agree with RDJ on TDK, that doesn't change my opinion of him. RDJ is still the coolest guy on Earth. :word:

Completely disagree. Yet strangely love him more for saying that....?

Yes, somehow it does ingratiate him to you. A unique blend of insulting and charming.

I agree on that.

I don't agree with what he said, perhaps he was talking with his usual dry sense of humor and people are blowing it out of proportion.

is there a video?

Well, with several 24 hr news channels and websites that are reporting news round the clock,...they've got to fill it up with something. Like AOL's "Memba Them" where they show updated photos of celebrities we used to know under the guise of keeping us informed. When what they're really doing most of the time is mocking them with a snarky caption underneath. So who knows how take this.

Hey, at least he's not being all gracious like most people who don't really care for something and try to gloss over it. I'm assuming he's just being facetious here, but even if he ain't, so what? Why apologize for an opinion?

Marvel gave him a Bentley. I believe that was in Rolling Stones. If it wasn't Rolling Stone, I got the link from the IMDb hit list to a legit website. I do know it was a magazine type site and it had a great article. Hey, if Marvel gave me a Bentley than I would say that too. LOL!

And I agree with the majority of this thread...RDJ is one of the coolest actors out there.

I love the man,but he just lost a bit of my respect

:woot: @ roberts comments. i agree, i wasn't a fan of the dark knight either.

It's all in good fun. RDJ never disappoints. TDK was legendary, though.

If nothing else he got us talking about a film that is easing it's way out quickly as the summer ends.

I like Robert Downey Jr. even more for doing it.

He's carrying the Marvel brand name. At Comic Con, when I got his autograph, I was wearing a Spider-man shirt and he yelled, "That is a dead franchise!" It's all in good fun. He's simply being half-facetious and repping the character he's playing.

Yeah I don't think he was totally serious when he said this, yet it does carry some truth with it.

I loved TDK, yet one of the things that bothered me about it, was how the movie was in love with itself.

To me I loved Two Face, but really it wasn't believable how Harvey Dent went over the edge like that.

What i hated about the films was i could not understand a word that came out of Batman's mouth.

Well, he does use big words.

But yeah, it was all just in good fun. RDJ is that kind of guy, it would seem.

Iron Man's technology felt more real and relevant than the convoluted cell phone/sonar technology or whatever it was Batman used. Even if it is more possible than a man in a flying suit.

Lets call it a tie. Batman had his sonar, sure, but Iron Man had Jarvis, that crazy hologram thing he used to design the new suit of armor, and those robotic arms. It's just how the movies went about themselves that made it seem all very possible.

Yeah he seemed like a whiny little b**** too me.

I think Downey is joking.
