And frankly I couldn't care less if he doesn't like The Dark Knight... he can however respect it...

as a professional actor working in the industry.

he's allowed to express his opinion anyway he sees fit...regardless the fact that he's an actor.

I meant more in terms that he should respect the actors and crew involved on the movie for the effort they put into it... as opposed to the movie itself.

No... your right... either way both Batman and Iron Man fans won this summer.

We have a third Batman and Iron Man 2 to look forward too. And comic book adaptions never looked better because of Both of these films.

After rereading his comments, I think RDJ was just joking. I think he was just being playful with the whole Marvel vs DC "feud", and besides Favreau has openly admit that he admired Nolan's BB so this is just a joke. But obviously the press wanted to make a big deal out of this so we are being bombarded by this non-news.

It would be great if someone from the Batman cast or crew shot back or something. Creating more of a feud. For the first time in recent memory the Marvel and DC feud can actually be less serious because it's been a great year for both properties. Both sides have very popular movies to jump off of. Not like the last two years when everyone was arguing which movie sucked less, Spider man 3 or Super man Returns.

Of course RDJ is joking, and of course he is being serious too. Only he can pull of such unclear comments like this. Which are great because it throws so many lame media outlets into a tail spin of he said/she said celebrity feuds.

And I like that he is at least poking fun at the fact that so many people feel that The Dark Knight is the best/smartest movie ever. It's just so intelligent that so many pea brains can't handle it and dumb people are the only people who would bash/take it for what it was.

I blame fans more for this kind of attitude though, I don't think the movie itself was in love with itself. I think everyone involed was just trying to make a good movie. I don't get too strong of a pretentious vibe from the movie itself.

I think he's joking as well, RDJ has that kind of sense of humor. Both Iron man and TDK were both excellent films and both characters fans should be proud of how they did and how good both fims were , and look forward to there sequals.

I disagree. I just didn't see the need for it becuase I don't think he really believes what he said. If he does then I'd have to say he's one of the dumbest people on the face of the earth.
