Rise of the Silver Surfer DR. DOOM/Julian McMahon Discussion

Em that figure is a toy, we've seen the final version of the suit in the 2 movie screencaps and it looks different to that and awful! Bronze cape and skirt, rubber arms. Ugh! I agree the toy there looks much better but I wouldn't get my hopes up for that look in the movie.

You haven't seen the new clip have you? Doom's cape is a dark green..he doesn't have rubber arms, but armored ones...watch the clip..I believe it #9....when the Thing hits Doom, he clearly has metal arms and a dark green cape.

I did see that clip yeah. It's not the clearest so I still dunno. Doom raised his hand and you could clearly see his upper hand area was metal but in the other screencap it is too, he's wearing metal covered gloves. He could still have those rubber arms.

I do hope we get this look in FF2 but either way we're still gonna have to watch Doom in that other AWFUL costume for a portion of the movie.

Actually, Someone pointed out that there are red dots on his arms that are for CGI tracking later. So the metal armour may not have been practical to do on set (with all the movement doom has) so they are doing it in CGI, atleast thats what im hoping

Fingers crossed!

I think even the brown cape had something to do with CGI color correcting...and that they never intended it to be brown/bronze at all.

First REAL look at the costume?
Not bad. Certainly a vast improvement from the first film. (*then again, anything would be*) However, is this the real deal in this newest film? Also, is this actual armor or "skin"?? (*UGH*) And what's with the red eyes? In any event, I wish they would simply stay truer to the character, as I have mentioned before. In the comics, between being multi-dimensional in character/brilliance and unique dialogue, Doom ranks as best Marvel villian of all-time!! (*at least in the comics. In the movies he's Doomed to be a Dud*:csad: *)

but his arms are rubber in the REAL pic...

so that statue can be veeery misleading as well.

What is that he's holding?

Well in the comics, when Doom gained the Power Cosmic, he could create any weapon he wanted...maybe that is some sort of energy axe or something....its cool looking none the less...

Remember, Hasbro made that toy...

Hasbro's Venom toy barley resembled the movie's version and it was um...purple...:p

Venom was black in the movie. Dammit, get it right Hasbro.:cmad:

I think its a really smart move that they're not advertising Doom...it'll be a nice surprise for the general audience. :yay:

Exactly.

And they're doing good of keeping his looks hidden.

I know Will...who could possibly complain about that? It is very faithful to the original but adding its own style at the same time...its beautiful and I can't wait to see it in action....
Agreed Goblin.

You guys can quote me on this...but from what I've been told by a little birdie that IS the final look of Doom on-screen. It's fully armored, not organic flesh. In his hand he's holding
a weapon molded from manipulated cosmic energy. The base he's standing on is a cutaway from the Silver Surfer's board.

Woo---freakin'----Hoo....if that is the case....then yippee---freakin'----skippy.....To have Doom look like that figure on the big screen and with
a cosmic energy weapon
is too much for this fan to handle....breathe....breathe.....thanks LS for the extra good news to end the day....now, let us get those reviews on here and then march into the theater next week....

What?!? :csad: I put it in spoilers!

Oh come on Albafan....have a heart:oldrazz: ...don't be mad at LS....in his defense, he did make me very happy by telling such incredible information and it takes away NOTHING from the film...if nothing else, it adds to the Godzilla-sized anticipation I have for this movie....

*sighs*

no one gets my humor....
