Dragonball moves to April 8th 2009

Fox in Mexico confirmed the delay... why are we still discussing this.

Because we need posts for our damn Avvys. :D

I get it now. I think this movie releases in majority of the countries in august. It will release in japan in march and North America on April 3rd.

Wow if that is the case then this will become the most pirated movie of all time.

if thats the case... it'll be the one time i would actually pirate a movie..
fox isnt that stupid, they know how to manage money

xwolverine, you have pirated movies. I don't care if your the freaking pope, you pirated a movie.

The irony is that you're actually right, we just can't tell.

Dragonball can change his release date

One of my most reliable sources has given me this story that has left me
frozen and I believe you also, as someone very close to the production and much credibility he has revealed two things very important:

- The first: The change that was announced a few days ago is not definitive, because had thought release in August this year, but saw no had the time enough for editing and special effects, which is why they decided to delay the premiere.

- Second: The release date they are driving at the moment and still being studied for the production and 20th Century Fox is December 2008. It is not official, nor safe ... But it is likely that there will be changes in the release date.

So it seems that the distrust of many fans had reason this regard. It certainly was not an official statement of the Fox ... Probably the only officer was Christina Inman did to my blog, but here is only an office in Mexico and do not take such decisions, so we can change.

:huh::huh::huh:

Not sure what to make of that.

This makes sense. It's obvious that the film has been delayed, but Fox never OFFICIALLY announced the date... Meaning they're still trying to find one.

Makes perfect sense... It could actually be true.

Yeah, I mean...I've been reading that and thinking about it. It might be true...it doesn't make sense, but we'll see once something official comes out (which will be never).

I still prefer April 3 2009, hopefully this December date is wrong.

If it's late December it would make good money, because people talk a lot of time off. So competition is no big deal; movie-goers go almost every day.

They don't need that much time for post production.

But they need the time to market this film. Its seems that you are forgetting about the posters, television advertisements, toys, etc. All that stuff needs at least a year of preperation. I feel that a lot of people rather have a rushed mess so they can fulfill their own needs to see this film instead of being patient and allowing FOX time to get all their marketing straighten out. Remember advertisement is key to a films success.

I'm hoping for April simply because then time is no longer, in any way, a problem/factor/setback/issue.

DB movie blog is reporting
"The Visual Effects Company Hybride (Sin City, 300) is working on Dragonball. " http://www.hybride.com/index_en.html
I checked DB's visual effects crew list on IMDB which has expanded signifigantly! So this jives upping production for earlier date!

December 5th looks pretty empty. Maybe then?

Delaying a movie without giving a new release date would be a PR nightmare. December would be cool with me as long as its not August. It needs time to cook.

To be honest moving to december 2008 isn't a good idea at all because usually it is family movies that do very well. Action and sci-fi type don't fare that well. I am Legend is the exception since it starred will smith.
Also if they move this to December 2008 then they won't get to release it in japan first. If i am not mistaken they want to take advantage of the holidays in mid march next year in Japan. Unless they want to release it worldwide on December 5th 2008 which I don't think will happen since that will clash with Day the earth stood still which is their film as well.

Extremely hard to say what they are thinking.

I hope they release a press statement as soon as possible and clear up all the problems.

Also my concern is that in December movies don't get that big of an opening weekend. This movie needs a big opening weekend to do well because it will be a very frontloaded movie.

Though I would love to see it sooner. I think the April date should stick, because it gives the films enough time in post and if the filmmakers want to change of fix thing's they got time. Though films pushed a year back are not always the best omen. But I have hope because I really want this movie to do well so we get a DBZ film, been waiting years for it

i dont.

as for the december release date... im fine with that, but no later than that.
december is plenty of time for them

April is what I want. Japan deserves to get this before you guys. Hence March release of Japan is a good idea while other will get it in April.
