Dressing Your Age

Yeah, my own moms does that regarding the jeans I wear...around the house, or on the weekend. They're somewhat of the loose fit baggy variety, but Monday through Friday I'm in business attire. Regardless of the fact that I am a grown man living under my own roof, she can't help herself but to comment.

that's moms for ya, i think all moms think their sons dress badly...

it's genetic.

I wouldn't so much want to dress my age (Although even at 36 people still mistake me for a 20 year old.) but more to dress in a way that flatters my curvy figure.

I tend to wear clothes that I don't mind my son throwing up on.

One of the grand aspects to fatherhood, isn't it? I don't know how many times I've had to suddenly strip off an expensive shirt and cover it with Shout after a child chucked on it.

I own several very nice suits that I no longer fit in due to my weight lifting habit. Hope no one dies or gets married anytime soon as I'm not inclined to spend money on a new suit that would actually fit me, now. I can't buy off the rack without getting alterations, everything has to be tailored to fit.

Try being built like Umaga. I'm not exaggerating. He's about 20lbs heavier than me but even my wife says he's my body double. No buying off the rack for me.

To me, the goth, thug, rocker, etc...images are a young person's game. when I turned 25 I started wearing "regular" clothes, nothing special. I got rid of all my band T's and such.

I own a suit, though I only wore it once to my friend's wedding.

A similar thing happened to me in my early 30s. I used to own a closet full of NFL/NBA jerseys that I wore 3-5 times a week. Then one day I was dressing and the thought ran through my mind: you are too old for these now. I liked being able to show off my arms & chest but I guess a guy has to grow up sometime.:csad:

I'm a comic book wearing t-shirt, jeans sort of guy. I wear nice clothes when the occasion calls for it, but other than that, no one shall judge me on my wear yo!

I wear polos and jeans to work most days, every so often I'll break out a :spidey: or :batman: shirt. My homies and co-workers know I'm a fan of these things, but it's not a big deal.

At work I usually just wear a T-shirt and sweats because...well...I clean a laundromat facility and sometimes get down and dirty, literally. So what's the sense of dressing up for a job like that?

Dress how you want to dress man. I mean obviously don't go into a buisiness meeting like that. Well even that depends on where you work. I wear comic book shirts a lot. But sometimes I dress up.

Yes, it does come with the territory. I've pretty much just stopped wearing most of my nicer clothes, lately. LOL!

*Googles*....Umm...I'd rather not. :o

Speaking of dressing...I need Christmas attire both online and physically...

well at the very least you should have a suit and a smart caszhe look going on.

again another point is alot of people complain about being uncomfortable in smart wear and that's usually because they dont get it tailored for them

well tailored clothes regardless are like second skin and don't generally give you that 'wearing' uniform feeling. They are flowing and light and breathable and very very comfortable.

i was only messing about your tub dude

I had two suits tailored for me after college to go on interviews in. It was never comfortable or felt like a second skin, as soon as I'd get home from the interview I got into my T-Shirt and jeans and felt a-okay again.

As long as you're dressing your gender then you should be fine.

Yes I'm looking at you emo kids ;)

I don't understand the craze of people wearing skinny jeans. I just don't get it. WHY, WHY WEAR SKINNY JEANS, YOU LOOK LIKE A MUPPET!!! :shock

I'm a theatre student. Sweats, tanks and lots of black come with the territory... though I'd dress that way anyway. Actually, that's a lie. I only own one pair of sweats and unless I'm in dancewear, I'm usually wearing black dress pants and either a lacy top or a black sweater. Cliche, I know.

I have always liked dressing feminine. I like to wear dresses, especially sundresses. I feel pretty, feminine and comfortable in them. I think people should wear what they like . No matter what age you are, the mirror can easily tell you if you look good or not.
