Dressing Your Age

this is an interesting thought, maybe because I am female, but does anyone think it makes a difference "dressing your age" between men and women. I know girls I graduated high school with, they look 10 years older than I do mostly because of the way they dress, I guess maybe I am not ready to grow up, but honestly I could never see myself dressing like they do everyday. They look like grandmothers. I do like to dress up if I am going out on the town or whatever but for everyday, no way I could handle it.

Yea that is pretty interesting.

Where i'm from when I was at school all the girls dressed more mature than us boys. We were happy to just go out in trackie bottoms and hoodies or whatever. But the girls always wore jeans and nice little tops or jackets. I think it's just that most girls, round my way at least, want to grow up quicker. Maybe they find it sorta romantic to dress older than they are, or maybe it's just because they can get into the pubs under age!!

there is definitely a line around mid to late 30s where

there are a few lines

there's the teenage to late twenties category where the amount of skin showing goes down..better fits, nicer heels, more evening wear than club clothes

then there's a late 30s early 40s look where elegance starts to shine as well, maybe more trousers or long cut dresses, more neckline with jewellery.

this is all ficklet since fashion changes but you find a woman who isn't dressing her age, and you can spot her from a mile off.

Ahh trust me, you haven't seen real horror untill you see a 40-50 year old in micro skirt and revealing top. Where I live, Essex, it's reknowned for being the home of the 40 year old slag, they are everywhere and it's quite disgusting and sad to see them like that.

tracksuits and hoodies are the stab generals clothes of choice

lolz terrible ay!

But this was like when we was 13-16. How else are we supposed to dress when we are out on the street? I wouldn't dress like that now, because I can get into pubs and whatever. But when you are just on the street causing trouble and doing what teenagers do comfort and warmth is the way to go!

I don't know, when i was that age, things were slightly different. It was all about wearing shirts and nice shoes with cool buckles on them. It was about being smart and looking old.

now it's a completely dress down nature.

as for me most of my young flirting was done in a school uniform so it was about having a nice round neck jumper on.

I don't even own a tracksuit. Funny how things change.

Yea this generation the clothing is more "urban" if you know what I mean? Heavily influenced by hip hop and all that.
I wouldn't put my dress sense in a category but if I was to I would say "Indie" style. Like jeans, trainers/shoes, nice smart sweaters and cardigans, stuff like that.

yeah i'm from north london but went to school in south london/surrey and i've been in sheffield for 7 and a bit years.

Sweet. So what's in like in the "City of Steel" or whatever it's called? :D

I lived in east london untill i was about 12, moved out to a town called Billericay and now I live in Basildon(**** hole!!)

Up north the woman are better. I'm over London chicks

Some of them are gorgeous, but most of the time women down here are stuck up their own arse, all they want is a rich sugar daddy who will pay for them to go shopping every day. I hear the women up north are much warmer and have better senses of humour.

Yeah they have some actual personality plus it helps that if you go out in liverpool, manchester, leeds ect there are more women out than men.

lemme guess

you can't be older than 24 right? I'd say 22

But you are about right with everything else! :applaud

The difficulty is the challenge, there's nothing better than getting a materialistic person to end up falling for a broke dude and 'PAYING' for your luxuries. But for that to happen, you do have to be 'that good'.

NOrthern ladies are very attractive and generally more open to banter and somewhat more flirty

you're also less likely to get agro from the guys in bars

Oh yea definitely. Whenever I go into London to the clubs or whatever, I guarantee there will always be some dick ead giving it large n that. Essex is probably worse. I don't know why adults go out looking for fights

Admittedly when I was younger me and mates used to do stuff like that, but these days i'd rather just go out, have a few beers, have a little dance and chill out.

By the way yes i am 22! Good guess!

Only famous person I've ever met is David Seaman. I went to school with a couple of people who are actors and comedians. I walked past Kate Moss and Jade Goody.

I despise Jade Goody, I feel sorry for her cancer plight and that, but why come on every TV show and appear in every magazine going to tell everyone about it?

I've met a few footballers and i've stood about 2 foot away from Shirly Bassey!! Shirley Bassey!! Legend! :D
