Dukerjay's Art Thread

Since I'm still unable to scan the new drawings in, I thought I'd play around with Photoshop, etc...this idea came to me somewhere in there...

It's that Civil War shot that McNiven did only it's done using characters drawn in the X-Men: Evolution style...most of these are off of Ronnie Thunderbolt's page and some were drawn by me.

Obviously, I didn't have one for everybody so, I guess it could still be considered a work-in-progress...although, I don't know if it'll every get done...

Anyways, here ya go:

nice work dukerjay

Nope...that was on the initial sketch for the design...he ended up not having one.

Here's an original character that my cousin and I are making a comic for...

His name is Holger Danske (in the Evo-style):

Cool! He looks tough!
Are you gonna post yer comic here!
pleeeeeease? :cue puppy eyes:

Love that sasquatch DJ and you character is super cool also:up:

You're pretty damn good...however my only criticism is everything you draw (even the portraits) comes off looking very flat. It would be to your credit to work this, since your shading and line work is very good. However, your images still do not "pop" off the page. I would suggest (since you appear to like superheroes) looking at some comics. Comic artists typically have a good grasp on how to ever exaggerate this effect.

The comic won't be done for awhile but I'll definitely put some stuff up as it becomes available.

Thanks for the compliments, RAMORE and blah.

I think you're right..I've noticed that, actually.

It usually happens for me when I'm colouring...either I don't go far enough with somethings or I push them too far and it's all the same tone with little variation.

I'm working on it.

A few updates on Holger.

First up, it's Holger a few years into the war...he's got a beard, now:

And then...60 years after WWII, Holger has an updated look:

I have Grasshopper, Flatman and Big Bertha lying in wait...I should have the GLA up in the not-too-distant future.

I liek the WWII one with the beard the best, but great job on all of them:)

Hogler does remind me of many characters from role playing games.. It does look very cool tho! Keep it up!

Been busy with work and getting ready for treeplanting this summer.

Anyways...here's something I did for another guy on this site.

I still have a bunch of animated characters that need to be coloured but that might not happen until the fall.
