Dumb & Dumber 2-Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels Return

God…. I don't know. Hoping for the best, prepared for the worst.

Hopefully the actual movie isn't as "wacky" as the trailer.

Considering the director's recent contributions to cinema, I will be entering the cineplex with the lowest expectations. Tho, I want to believe the film will be good.

I consider the first movie to be a comedy classic. I didn't laugh or even smile at anything in that trailer.

It's amazing how brilliant the brothers were in the 90's and how lackluster they've been since then. I will wait to see it before passing judgement, but the trailer didn't make me laugh once.

Considering trailers tend to have the movies more exciting scenes it will be hard to tell
All i am hoping is that the smaller character scenes inbetween will be not so wacky but more funny.

Comedy trailers are kind of tricky to get right, you want to give off the vibe that the movie will be funny ideally without giving away the best laughs.

So yeah, the trailer didn't blow me away by any stretch, but I do enjoy the reverence to the original that I'm seeing. When that music cue from the first movie came on it was instant nostalgia.

ehhhh....don't know how to feel

beginning was hilarious and then it just went all over the place

definitely seems more slapstick and over the top

You saw reverence, I saw rehashed jokes. I hate when comedy sequels rehash lines or gags from the first movie instead of treading new territory. It's never a good sign.

Well, I'm talking specifically about details like the music cue, the apartment, etc. Obviously I don't want the movie to just be a greatest hits set.

I do slightly fear that the main gag of the whole film is simply that they look older but haven't changed. I mean, that is funny in and of itself but you need more.

It was horribly edited and overall not funny. So yeah, lowest of expectations for me but I really do hope this was worth it and that it works.

It's a comedy trailer so I dom't pass too much judgment. I always like to think that the best laughs are being saved for the actual film. I just liked seeing these characters again :)

I feel the same way. I was instantly disappointed when I saw Lloyd miss his mouth with the mouth freshener.

I think the amount of people viewing this thread right now is proof that this movie just has too much to live up to and was never going to be able to. I'm just hoping I get a few belly laughs out of it and some nostalgia. And that I don't walk away from it somehow liking the characters less.

I'm hoping they're saving the best for the actual movie.
I didn't see any road trip, which is why I'm a little bit worried. The road trip aspect of the first one is what makes it different.
But also, the little things are kinda funny. The apartment looks exactly the same and Lloyd says "Love what you've done with the place". That's the type of dialogue that really fits with the first movie.

Yeah, to be honest...if you look at the trailer for the original, it plays up the more over the top slapstick elements. But if you look at all the lines we were quoting a page ago, it's the more subtle, profoundly dumb nuggets of dumbness. I expect the film will be littered with stuff like that, I just hope it's funny.

I consider the first film to be one of the greatest comedies ever and....this trailer didn't do that much for be to be honest. Beginning was great, but then it fell apart and was horribly edited. Hoping for the best though.

This is the only shot of the movie that I absolutely loved.
I want it to be a road trip so much.

They say so but I didn't see any of that in the trailer.

I saw it, and I don't know, I think it could be funny and good. I still like the first film, and the trailer made me laugh, even if certain jokes followed other jokes that wasn't funny, but it didn't forget the "dumb" aspects of those characters. So yeah, its Dumb and Dumber, and at least it's not Dumb and Dumberer. Everyone would have to agree on that.

I think this looks hilarious! I loved every bit of the trailer! "Got ya!"

It's a little jarring seeing how much older they look .....

That being said, I'm seeing this for sure.

Pretty bad trailer. It was filled with either a hacky references to the first film or jokes that didn't land. Also some surprisingly vulgar sight gags. I feel like this can go either way; legitimately funny or a total disaster. And I'm a big fan of the original.

I was a bit disappointed in the trailer.

Oh well, back to quoting the original, if there are any left. It seems like we've quoted them all.
