Dumb & Dumber 2-Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels Return

What makes Dumb and Dumber a timeless classic is not the humor. Its the friendship. It'll be the same thing that makes this one great just wait and see.

Yesterday I was thinking the same thing. The fact that Harry kept seeing his friend even after 20 years like the nurses say, is a testament of how good friends they are no matter what. I hope the film will keep this type of stuff.

I dunno, to me, it just seems like they're forcing the characters. It doesn't seem as natural as it once did. Llyod's face after he told him he was faking it for 20 years in the funny farm seemed way too forced for me. Same with the phone call at the end when he picked up the daughters phone.

But of course, I may like the movie overall, but so far, it just seems like they're phoning it in. it doesn't feel as natural.

Well, you're seeing 2 selected minutes from a 90-minute film. I don't think it's a fair way to judge the whole thing.

Also, they could be saving the real takes too, pretty common trailer tactic especially in comedies. Something definitely felt "off" about the trailer but I'm just really hoping for the best.

The idea of a bad Dumb and Dumber sequel that makes me wish they never did it is just too deflating for me to entertain just yet. My hype has been a bit shaken but I'm still planning on paying my 12 bucks and going in ready to laugh.

Where did I say I was judging the whole thing? In fact, I said I may like the movie overall.

Where did I say I was judging the whole thing?.
No, no. I wasn't talking about you in that sentence, but in general. I see a lot of people judging the movie before hand.

Yeah, but saying things like "well... I guess I'm skipping this one!". Pfff.

Well I can't blame people necessarily. In a time where going to the movies is so expensive and that a trailer's whole point is to advertise the product, people kind of have to be more discerning these days if they think it's going to be worth their money.

Totally that's why I love first one.

A little offtopic: I don't know what it's like in the United States, but in here, on Wednesdays tickets are half the price. Do you have some kind of promotion like that?

Yeah, but it's usually on Tuesdays here. Or at least in my neck of the woods. :)

In my city tickets are half off if you go before 4pm

There's another trailer somewhere but I CAN'T FIND IT!
Anybody seen this one?

You're only saying that because it's been 20 years since you've seen them together as those characters. Why don't you wait until you see the full movie before deciding if they "phoned it in" or not? I mean you know there's 111 other minutes of the movie you haven't seen right?

I'm not buying the "moviez r so expensiv" routine when I hear it. You can go to an afternoon show here in the greater Phoenix area for like $6.

I'm not the biggest fan of the trailer. Something just seems "off." Maybe it's jarring to see Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey being these guys after twenty years. Maybe it's because it seems so forced. I don't know. But the dust bit was absolutely hilarious. I'll be seeing this due to the fact that the original is one of my favorite comedies of all-time.

It was jarring for me too, but I like how they acknowledged the time gap.

They need to "totally redeem themselves" for the second trailer.

I felt the same way. It just didn't feel like the same characters we saw in the first film. Maybe it was just me. I hope the second trailer shows a little bit more for what we have in store.

I've been wrapping my head around that and I just think is because they look older, and the definition of the trailer is ridiculously high.

It IS kinda weird seeing them in their old getup. It doesn't feel like..Harry and Lloyd but a funny or die video at a certain extent.
