Duncan Jones' Warcraft

Not really, with the teams making Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell. Both have some serious potential, imo.
I hate AC games with passion, so I have no idea. Splinter Cell... I don't see it bringing anything new to the table. At best, we will get a James Bond movie clone.

how can a character with proportions like Orgrim look realistic? Hulk is big but has at least a lot of human features.
I find it absurd - looking for realism in a creature that doesn't exist in reality. It's as grounded as it can possibly be. Much better than best CGI creatures, that were made in 2010. Take it or leave it.
i dont think they could make him more real in 2015 with 200 millions and 2 year of postproduction. why is it that with CGI some have so big expectations?
I'm starting to think people just don't know what they want exactly. They come up with something in their heads, but with closer inspection turns out it's either impossible to do or just stupid/ugly/tasteless/etc.
if only some would try to watch oldschool practical effects with their eyes open. it looked like silicone, rubber with moving mechanical parts. it looked good but still fake.
Exactly. Especially when it comes to human or human-like characters.

The Splinter Cell movie misses the point of the series, just like the most recent game, Blacklist, did. Half of the joy of Sam Fisher is that he is middle-aged with grey in his hair. It's Ironside's gravelly voice and the cynical old wit of Sam's dialogue that sells the character. Casting Hardy, an actor in his 30s, as Fisher loses all of that and just makes Sam another generic superspy.

You're underestimating Hardy's abilities. Max didn't come across as some generic 30 year old. He was weary and came across as a man with a lot of years and tragedy in his past. If he can pull off Max and the other roles he has done I'm sure he can manage an older cynical witty character.

Hardy is a phenomenal actor, but Liman's professed approach to the film adaptation seems to very much miss the point of the series' appeal and unique identity. They are very much high tech spy thrillers in the Clancy style involving a middle-aged, cynical protagonist. Limon has specifically said that the movie is going to take a "stripped down" approach to a "younger" Sam Fisher. (ie. take the age and cynicism out of Sam and the high tech, Tom Clancy-style gadgets and plot devices out of the world.)

Hardy will probably be in his forties by the time they get around to making this potential Splinter cell franchise

Leaked footage from the trailer leaked today. It looks glorious. The magic looks quality. What the Hobbit wanted to be.

I'm in no way a Warcraft fan but this looks amazing. Very excited

After seeing that footage and the footage from Comic-Con, this could be a legit game changer imo. It looks like nothing else I have ever seen on the big screen.

Do we have any indication on when this trailer's actually coming out? I'm hoping the leaks lead to a "**** it, just release it" scenario like BvS and Suicide Squad.

Bad News Jones said not until November.

Watched the clip. poor quality but excited anyway. Green glowy eyed magic orc at the end sealed the deal. Want to see more.

I'm still wondering if any fantasy movie not named Lord of the Rings (or the Hobbit) will succeed anytime soon. I guess that question will be answered soon enough.

This will be interesting for me because I have never played Warcraft.
I hope it is a good film.

I've never played the games either so no pre-conceived notions for me. I hope they release the trailer soon.

It'll garner interest, nerds play the game still, and it's crept into the lexicon over the years.

It looks good but it looks very game-y. I'll wait to see better quality footage but it kind of looks like a high quality video game cutscene from that footage.

Yeah that first CG shot is very impressive. I won't ***** about the eyes because he is an orc and their eyes wouldn't look like ours.
