Sci-Fi Dune

To Whom It May Concern: That now-deleted post I briefly, erroneously made in this thread about this movie's ugliness was in fact directed at Argylle, which I am currently watching. I could never say such a thing about this beautiful desert flower.

But seriously y'all, Argylle is truly hideous to behold.

It's wild to me that the fake opening is somehow better than the actual movie.

Thinking about Rebel Moon, I was remembering about how 15 years ago we might’ve got a single Dune movie directed by Peter “Battleship” Berg. Most likely starring Taylor Kitsch as Paul.

Aw, you should have saved it for the lulz.

The biggest difference between Dune and Rebel Moon for me is that I actually watched Dune :o

Well more people saw Rebel Moon than Barbie according to Snyder so who’s the real odd one out? It doesn’t need your eyes!

If more people saw Rebel Moon than Barbie it’s only because they dozed off watching something else on Netflix and then it just started playing Rebel Moon when it was over.

As someone who didn’t really enjoy their first one, this one was so much better. The story was more straightforward although a bit weak. The visuals and sounds should be experienced on a big screen.

Chalamet is a bona fide star after this. And I was surprised how much I enjoyed Austin Butler. I didn’t think Elvis at all.

The only weak link was Zendaya. I swear she just has the one expression of clenching her jaw and that’s it.

Yeah, I believe it.
Absolutely! Adding to this, a lot of people keep saying these movies barely have CGI. Which is funny given 1700 out of the 2331 shots in Part One are effect shots. I'd wager Part Two ends up even higher. It's just so well-done it doesn't stand out much. So, that's honestly the biggest compliment you could give the VFX team.

We've got CG vehicles, characters, creatures, tons of exterior shots, hell even fully digital shots, sandworms obviously, crowd and location extensions, shields, water and sand simulations, down to a lot of those blue eyes. It just feels less due to the sheer talent involved and probably those reasons in the tweet.
