Sci-Fi Dune

The pictures are great. If you're familiar with the material.

Really tho??

I mean come on, that image couldn't be more generic.

I get that Caladan is supposed to look that way but why does that have to be our first look. Why couldn't they show us a still on Arrakis.

The grey, dreary imagery is a staple of Villeneuve.

But the other movies looked more inetersting right off the bat.

I'm sorry they didn't bet everything on the first image. Must be really disappointing.

Plenty of other movies also don't bet everything on their first image. But they still look good so yeah, very disappointing.

I think they deliberately chose this "bland" of an image to bring in the non-science-fiction audience. Us geeknerds will be watching this movie regardless, but you'd be surprised how anything that looks too futuristic or fantastical automatically turns off some viewers. Similar to how the trailers for musical movies rarely portray them as musical movies.

The image is actually a frame grab from the film itself and not just a publicity still.

I think they chose this pic to make fans (of Dune and Chalamet) begin discussing it online. It doesn't say anything to anybody, who isn't familiar with the books or even the previous movie. I don't think it's aimed at wide audience. Not yet. Primitive screwheads will only have Kylo Ren associations.

Is there still no word on who is playing Feyd?

I like the Caladan look. That outfit kind of makes sense to me. Can't wait to see more.

omg looks great - happy to finally get a pic

im so hyped for this. the book is PERFECTION imo and denis seems like the right guy for the job. i just hope people actually pay attention to this. I would hate it if they only got to tell half the story.

I will see anything made by Denis. This brilliant man managed to make one of the greatest sequels of all time (Blade Runner 2049), after making one of the greatest sci-fi films of all-time (Arrival), after making one of the best dramas (Sicario).
this. BR is my all time fav film so i was really afraid of a sequel being made. and 2049 is now my 2nd fav film of all time. i trust the guy.

Seeing as how it's news not related to the coronavirus, I'd say it's good news by default in the very least.

I didn’t like him or buy him in his part in Little Women. I haven’t seen him in much else.

For discussion's sake, who would be a better choice for Paul?

I’m here for Villenueve and Ferguson.

One of these days I will finally understand Timothee Chalamet’s appeal. Today’s still not that day.
His Call Me by Your Name fans are extra.
