Sci-Fi Dune

Science ficiton, science fantasy, or alien movies.
I think it might be a kind of movie that could benefit from being released outside the typical blockbuster-months. We've seen movies doing great business in practically any month in recent years.

Dune is not action oriented like a MCU film or something though. It's fast more cerebral, which I think makes it less appealing to the average summer blockbuster viewer.
Yeah, I wonder why Studio is expecting it to be this big money maker.

also that damn Zendaya, Thimotee Chalamet and Jason Momoa are so hot right now - there will be a hype

Dune is going to fine, assuming it makes the original release date.

Where's the Sisterhood tv show? Wasn't it suppose to premiere around the launch of HBOMax and before the film?
Haven't heard anything on it since November.

Jon Spaihts had to step down from his role as the show-runner.

Legendary TV did not like his draft for the show and he was removed from the job. He is working on the script for the sequel to this movie.

Yeah, that's basically what I was referring to hearing back in November.

I think that show is contingent on this movie's success. I have absolute zero interest in it and I highly doubt it'll get made.

It's yet another cart ahead of a horse project. There seems to be an idea among big studios, that if they announce big plans regarding some franchise, it will make everyone believe they're super serious about it and sure of it's success, so everyone must see the first one.

I also have zero interest in the show and I'd rather have them adapt Dune books one after another if the first film is a success.

I remember there was talks about doing a Van Helsing show when they were releasing the movie. We know how well that went.

True but... I have yet to see a single frame of this movie and I already KNOW it’s at least a hundred times better than Van Helsing. So if it catches on, it’s possible that there could be spinoffs.

If this should be the new epic like Lord of the Rings or Starwars they should definitely start publishing at least pictures, even if the release is a year away

Sounds somewhat promising, moreso for something like stills or set photos. But I don't wanna get too hyped for what might be nothing worthwhile.

It is going to be an article featuring the first official production stills. And what's unpromising about that?

I didn't say it was unpromising, but i'll take what I can get at this point.

Finally some good ****ing news

I wonder if there will be a photo session like Disney did for Star Wars. Or is it too early for that?

Dune seems to be a natural fit.

It's just that you seemed very unimpressed in case it would just be production stills, but I actually find stills to be pretty exciting. They can say a lot about the movie's visual style, production and costume design.
