Sci-Fi Dune

Would have been curious to know your opinion before "someone found out...", but hey, it's still a valid one.

So because characters are just wearing suits of armor, does this mean they won't be using personal shields to fight?

Not understanding that armor at all. Wondering if personal shields still exist or are being replaced. I really hope they aren't.
And as for Kynes, still don't get the gender swap, if they wanted another strong female character they could have included Irulan and beefed up her role.

Still, Im excited by the other images and what we are seeing.

Everyone looks great so far.

Unless I.missed.it.
Can't wait to see Bardem as Stilgar too.

Sure. But maybe some changes are made. He looks like the actor who plays Yueh.

Yeah, possible. I would think he'd be wearing something a little different or of a different color along the lines of Thufir. That braid better be there though.

First official promo is out. When can we expect a teaser?

Also, they removed Greta-Hogwarts-Jedi comparison from the Vanity Fair article, lol.

Looks excellent. I like that there's still character to the costumes and world, but it's not overdesigned. It's distinct without the need to get all uber sci fi.

I don't know, it's not a bad analogy. A pampered first-worlder positions him/herself as a rhetoric-spewing bougie white saviour, only to become a different kind of tyrant replacing the one that was overthrown. :o

I do wish this was a precursor to a teaser/trailer. Gotta see what that Fraser cinematography is going to look like...

Dune as a concept is pretty silly when you realize that all these characters are basically pooping and peeing on themselves all the time.

It's not that farfetched all real world things considered.

Funny story, Charlotte Rampling, who is playing Revered Mother Mohiam in this, turned down the role of Lady Jessica for Jodorowsky’s version after he told her about a scene featuring hundreds of people defecating at once, presumably in their stillsuits.

I thought he wanted them to just straight up poop on the floor. If it is in their stillsuits then it's true to the source material.
