Sci-Fi Dune

My steelbook just arrived!

Time to watch this bad boy in 4K.

NIce, I am waiting for the switching aspect ratio version to get a steelbook.

I still can't believe this film didn't have the WB logo dissipate into sand or something neat. The fugly lifeless blue logo was a joke.

That would've been neat.

I mean, garbage like Resurrections still had the iconic stylised green WB logo, yet a masterpiece like Dune didn't do anything fun with it.

Denis deserved a director nod though, imo.
He did. Competition was stiff though. Although I feel like if Denis were in there and Spielberg was snubbed, I don't think too many people would have been upset about it since the man already has two Best Director Oscars on top of the fact that he's Steven friggin' Spielberg.

I’m sure they will be giving Denis all the nominations for Part 2

So they released this in cinemas again, amidst Oscar nominations period. Good. This 399,4 million really bothered me. :hehe:

Pugh as Princess Irulan for Dune Part II… then Hunter Schafer as Paul’s daughter, Ghanima, for Children Of Dune.

With the popularity of the first one, a (hopefully) much improved situation pandemic-wise and a purely cinematic release I can easily seeing this making around 600-700 million.
I think so too. By the time another film comes out theatres will be in a very different place and much closer to pre-pandemic.

So we have about six months give or take and three major roles to be cast. Will we get announcements or are they going to just go about business like the last one without ant real casing fanfare.
I'm actually expecting a few unexpected choices for Irulan, Shaddam and Feyd.

Timothy Chalamet and Oscar Isaac deserved nominations as well. Unfortunate.

Seems a bit overly optimistic looking at where the world is right now, and California still under heavy lockdown.

Eh. I thought Chalamet and Isaac were good but I wouldn’t say any actor in this deserves an Oscar nom.
