DVD choice: Buy spidey 3, wait for 3.1, do both or boycott both

I'll wait for whatever comes on sale first. I've gotten all the Spidey dvds when they became cheap, especially the collectors ones that were sold dirt cheap during post Thanksgiving/Black Friday sales.

For this particular movie, I want both. I didn't buy the SM2 2.1 or 1.2, (whatever it's called) these bastards are going make money off of me either way. And there better be more than 8 minutes of new footage.

I doubt there will be a long wait (2-3 years) for the extended cut of Spider-Man 3...when S-M 3 does come out, I have a feeling the extended version will come out at the same time, which will be fantastic...and it shouldn't be called Spider-Man 3.1...just Spider-Man 3 Extended Cut.

I have Spidey 1 and 2, and the 2.1 DVD. All of them are 2 disc sets. The only one disc Spidey DVDs I have are the 90's cartoon ones.

I wish they'd release them in season box sets.

I'll end up gettin' both no doubt. I am really lookin forward to the DVD release -- it will be packed with extras due to the number of villains . . . I hope.

Not only am I going to get both, I wouldn't want it any other way. I want the theatrical release as is because it's a damn good film. I want a director's cut months later to revive the sensation and give me more. This isn't a rip off or a double dip for me. It's a genuine treat!

I was overall happy with Spider-Man 2.1, but I'm still happy that I have the original Spider-Man 2 DVD because of the extras.

I'll buy at least 3. I liked the movie and would like to own it. But as for 3.1 we need something bigger than 8 minutes. I'd love to see the extended train fight and maybe more of Harry and Pete talking and more of MJ about cold feet, but that stuff wasn't enough to make me buy 2.1 as I was extremely satisfied with SM2 as a great movie. I like SM3 but if there is a 20+ minute version out there (particularly the rumored 156 minute or so one) I'll pick it up as usally the director's cut is vastly superior. Kingdom of Heaven anyone (that was 50 minutes longer and took an average movie and made it amazing)?

But I don't know if there will be a 3.1 and if there is, if it will be all that different. So, I'll just purchase 3 when it comes out in October/November/whenever.

Buy the trilogy on Blu-ray.
The Best Buy Spider-man 3 has previews for the blue-ray of 1 and 2. A trilogy set should occur.

they obviously wanted to milk it for as much as they can by delaying to release to coincide with releasing footage to also promote the third film...

this is similar to how box set dvds of one season come out just around the time the next season goes out on air....

it's part and parcel of the advertising trade.

Some of you guys have no sense of economics. Why buy both? It makes no sense at all from a financial standpoint on your part. If you plan on getting both, granted we all have a little, "cirminal" in all of us, I'd suggest buying a good pirate copy to tie you over until 3.1 comes out, instead of forking over roughly 30 bucks in total on a movie that most of you find dissapointing anyway. Come on chaps, think. Save your self some cash.

As for me, I'm not going to bother with 3.1 because just like 2.1 it'll be up on youtube, where I can see it where ever I want. I'm happy with sm3 and thats the copy I'm going to buy, my first ever bough spidey film with my own money, its a glorious feeling.
