Superman Returns DVD Deleted Scenes

I hate the suit, yet I saw the movie 10 times in the theather, and will be buying the 1 disc widescreen version, the 2 disc special edition version, AND the Ultimate Superman Collection when they comes out... regardless of what the suit looks like in the movie.

Just out of curiousity...why are you buying the 1-disc AND the 2-disc? Are you a memorabilia collector? Otherwise, why don't you just buy the 2-disc?

with Superman, I am a memorabilia collector.

The guy said he wasn't going to buy it because it wouldn't have the "Return to Krypton" scene as a deleted scene...

Still no reason for a childish response.

He has his reasons for NOT buying. You have yours FOR buying it. That's called "Freedom of Choice".

First Singer said ther wouldn't be deleted scenes.
Now they're saying the deleted scenes will be on the 34.99 two disc version that you could buy.
Thats a pretty hefty price. I personally think they're trying to make up for a mediocre box office.

You know i've defended Singer for a lot but this isn't something i can defend. The sequence should never have been cut from the theatrical release in the first place and it has to be on the dvd, has to be.:cmad:

And i want an extended cut of the movie, Singer's original cut on dvd too.
Singer stated that the "Return to Krypton" footage could not be fully appreciated on DVD. Only in IMAX 3D. The reason he had to take it out of the movie was the movie was already 2 1/2 hours long......

he's not buying it just because it doesn't have a certain scene in it... that IS childish, no matter how you spell it.

Wrong. To YOU it is "childish". To him, and others, it is NOT. That shouldn't be too hard of a concept to grasp.

And the lack of inclusion on the DVD should have been expected, based on what BS has done up to this point.

no... it is childish. Singer said he would use it in something else, and yet he's childish to not buy the DVD just because it doesn't have it... please, it's so babyish of him to do so.

I think this DVD will do just fine by itself without the krypton scene... it's selfish people like him to dont buy it just because Singer didn't put something on there.

I give up. You are most definitely WRONG, but it's no use attempting to explain.

Maybe C.Lee or one of the other Mods will pop in and do it so you understand.

You know what is so funny about Singer. How many films get re-released in theaters in the last 10 years? Barely any unless they have made a gazillion dollars. The last ones I can remember are Sony re-releasing Spiderman 1 with MIB 2, and Gladiator before the oscars. 1 or 2 after they won an Oscar, and a few that the studios were pushing for an oscar nod. This would never qualify as that. And he thinks that theaters will release it again. God is getting too dilusional, or doing too much coke lately.

There is no change in the world that Returns will be re-released on the big screen any time soon...anywhere.

hey, I got a better idea... stop trying to play as a mod, and let them do their job.

this is a forum for discussion... not one sided persecution.

Exactly. You calling someone's opinion childish is uncalled for. Thank you.

because it IS childish... to not buy a movie just because it doesnt have a scene?... he's incredibly selfish.

It's his choice, not yours.

It's the one really different, really innovative, really dramatic part of the movie that we haven't seen. It is in fact the core of the whole story - the reason Superman leaves, the reason he returns, the reason he feels alone, the reason he is attached to earth, to Lois, the reason that child is so important and symbolic of the humanity and belonging he wants.

Singer is foolish to think there will be a special IMAX screening just to showcase this scene.

It should be on the DVD. So should everything else that was filmed.

As it's such an influential scene, its absence from the movie and then the DVD is a good reason why someone who has already seen the movie might not want to invest in the DVD. Especially if they were not that keen on the movie.

Singer is arrogant to think he can hold this scene back. It belongs with this movie.

He should never have been given such power over what was in the movie - or on the DVD.

This scene is possibly the only reason I'd buy the DVD. To see something that forms the heart of the story and which should have been part of this poorly-constructed film from the beginning. This wasn't some brief scene, it was a $10 million sequence showing a different costume, a spaceship, a voyage, exploration of Krypton's fragments and destroyed civilisation...

A reason you do not agree with is not childish. To criticise someone for giving this reason is childish.

I realize that it's his choice, but the thing is this ONE scene out of 2 and a half hours. That scene alone shouldn't determine whether or not you're gonna buy the movie...

I'm angry too that he didn't out it in there, but I'm not gonna let a 2 minute scene determine whether or not I'm gonna buy the movie... There's more to this movie than one little sequence.

we don't need to discuss this further. Deleted scenes, you say? What an interesting topic.

2 minutes? I thought Singer said the scene was between the 20-30 minute mark. This is not a small scene we're talking about. We're talking about the whole credit sequence with comic panels that was done (there's a video blog only for the credit sequence...) and almost half an hour of new and important to the story footage.

im still not gonna let that affect me buying it or not, but whatever...

I honestly was expecting more than what is on there... I really wanted to see the part with the alternate shirt rip thing, and him with that closet scene.

Because you liked the movie. Those of us that didn't like it don't have a single reason to buy the DVD with the theatrical cut. Now, with an extended edition... that would be another story.

Actually, 20 minutes seems on the safe side. They filmed him creating the ship, then when he arrives at Krypton, flying around the ruins, stopping at the statues, realizing it's Kryptonite, getting out of there while being chased by said Kryptonite, then his trip back.

I would like to see the scene of Luthor telling Supes that he made the story up on NK... that would add a lot to the story.
