Transformers DVD Release Date - October 16th

Interesting. According to Video ETA, they're guesstimating November and according to this article, it says Oct. 16th, but that's not a confirmed date yet.

The regular DVD ship date is listed as the 16th, and it looks like retailers are presuming the same for the HD versions.

Apparently a retail chain MOVIESTOP is showing it on the 16th as well.

I'm actually worried if this is the correct date since it stands to reason that if they release the DVD this early that it's the no frills version which will have very little in ways of extras. If that is the case, then you know as well as I do that there will be a Special/Extended/Director's Edition at some point down the line after everyone's bought the first one.

My problem is my husband and the 'we already have it, why do we need another one?' line I usually get. Then there's also the little matter of clutter. We have way to much stuff as it is.

However, with that said...I have two copies of each individual LOTR movie...and like five copies of the original Star Wars movies.

Pretty much. I think I now own all three releases of LOTR. Theatrical, Extended, and Limited Editions (includes theatrical and extended on one disc )

Two Versions of Star Wars.

And multiple copies of almost any DVD that began with a one disc version and ended up with a special edition.

I will definitely buy Transformers the minute its out, and I'd be willing to buy any special editions along the way. Same goes for The Bourne Ultimatum, which, I regret to say, topped Transformers as my favorite movie of the summer. t:
