Yeah, I don't see how one would really take issue with Moore's stance on this film.

I wonder if this movie might launch a Jason and the Argonauts sequel, a la Iron Man/Avengers.

Eh, is what it is. Moore disagrees with pretty much everything we find fun in life. :o

It sounds like Alan Moore has a point even though a lot of internet haters like to insult Alan Moore as a cranky old man.

His concerns are that:
- His colleague Steve Moore (no relation) didn't get any money for this adaptation of his comic, even though they had previously promised him a microscopic $15,000, for which he had put some effort into the script;
- The people in charge of the movie started putting Steve Moore's name on the advertising after he died as it's free publicity;
- The people in charge of the project are ignorant, they didn't know if Steve Moore had invented the Thracian war for example;

Of course he has a point, why would anyone trash him based on this interview?

Trailers & tv spots have me getting more & more excited from this. I suspect it'll be good & am hoping for it to have a strong opening weekend.

As much fun as it is to make fun of Alan Moore, I can definitely see his point with this.

Then again, I anyway have no problem boycotting anything that Brett Ratner's involved with.

When i told my friend about this, he was just "morally okay to pirate this movie" man i snirked at that comment hahah.

Why would anyone want to miss this on the big screen?

Aside from fanboys, will it matter that much regarding Moore's statements? Granted the flick may not even do that well anyways.

There are 3 Hercules movies out/coming out this year. None of them look even remotely good. I saw The Legend of Hercules on DVD and am glad I didn't pay for it...and will wait for the DVD of Hercules. Hercules Reborn actually interests me the most, since it's by The Asylum and has pro wrestler John Morrison in it (who is no Rock, let me tell ya), so it's likely to be a train wreck.

There is something about this movie that rubs me the wrong way. Surprisingly, it's not that Ratner directed it. The movie just looks mediocre...and that's probably because Ratner directed it.

:o

And I LOVE Dwayne Johnson, too.

That's because Hercules is the only Greek classic worth adapting, all of the other classics are boring and dated. Nobody would ever go see a well-made movie about Perseus, Lysistrata, The Illiad, etc.

;-)

You and me both, man. When they released that first teaser, I thought it looked pretty cool. But the more I see of it, the less interested I get. It just looks cheap or something. It doesn't look epic at all.

What's the 3rd Hercules movie coming this year?

They should totally do a film based on the Iliad, but go all out on the myths, with the Gods fighting etc. I did like Troy but i've always wanted to see the Greek Gods go to war.

:whatever:

His head keeps getting larger and it's always silly to ask others to boycott something because of your own ********. Sorry Alan, but your work as well as others isn't immaculate. I know Hollywood does screw up a lot of adaptations but he's become such a joke to me, and I'm not even all that excited for this movie either.
Good thing you read the article...
