E3 2011

With the nintendo having a huge reveal for their new console this year, hopefully Microsoft has something special.

It's been all quiet on the Microsoft front... I'm betting they have some surprising stuff up their sleeve. They HAVE to know their past few shows have sucked balls...

I owned an NES, SNES and Genesis but really didnt get into gaming until the PS2/Xbox. I just find zero fun in Mario like titles. I hate the character. Never found the appeal in a short, fat italian plumber. Those games can be interesting distractions, but i wouldnt ever spend money to own one. Just not my cup o tea.

* Looks at collection of Mario games

What's wrong with you :cmad:

One thing for sure I expect from MS is even more Xbox live features in which will most likely be Kinnect exclusives!,Which I'm cool with since I have one and am a fan But there's potential for more features for all players.

3 or even 4-way video chatting would be awesome for me!,I video chat with some people on Messenger or other players in video chat and so I think it could be cool to go in a small xbox party with all three or four people able to join in video chat together!!

FM Radio being improved/more news categories in MSNBC News and MSN messenger being improved(looking much more like the real thing on computers)could be options too!!!

One thing I'd sure love is a Comic-Book store feature,Able to search for some old&new comics from DC and/or Marvel(and even Dark Horse)then you can pay(whatever it costs right now at comic shops)for an issue or specials like issues#1-5 for $5 or something and view them in different screen sizes like from medium to the whole screen and pressing A to go to the next page!

I'm sure they're awre, but at the end of the day these press conferences aren't there to entertain us.

As for surprises, I think they'll probably announce some stuff that hasn't been revealed yet in an official capacity, but I don't think they'll have anything genuinely surprising.

I don't think MS did that bad last year or even the year before!,especially not"sucked balls"type of level.

Really? Last year was horrid IMHO, Skittles was just as bad as "Giant enemy crab" or "RIIIIIDGE RACER!"

Don't forget Cammie Dunaway and the Wii Vitality Sensor.

Oh Cammie was bad and the Vitality Sensor was stupid but they're not memorable like Sony's e3 conference from a few years back or some of Microsoft's crap from last year.

Oh Pat, whatever will I do with you. :hrt:

Seriously though, to me, Mario is my Mickey Mouse. I love the character as well as the universe he inhabits, supporting cast, villians and all. I have been an avid supporter of all things Mario since I got my original NES for christmas many years ago. :D

Announcing Star Wars: Battlefront 3 would make Microsoft's E3 presentation the best for me! Heeeh heeeeh? *silence & then someone yells "GO HOME KID!"*

I'm pretty much in the same boat.

Or a Star Wars: Battlefront Trilogy with Battlefront 3. Or the first two on XBOX Live Arcade :woot:

New Star Wars Kinnect footage/SW:Battle Front 1&2 on XL Arcade and BF3 announced with some info and teaser trailer!!!

Except Battlefront 3 will obviously be a multiplatform game.

That doesn't stop MS from thinking they own multiplatform titles. Just look at how they show off COD every year at E3. Plus, Lucasarts has a good relationship with MS. So I'd assume if they show off a new SW game it'd be at the 360 press conference. Not to sound like a fanboy or anything.

What's the over-under on Jack Tretton or someone else at Sony's presser making a tasteless joke about their customers getting their credit card information stolen only to met with groans and/or possible booing?

Yeah, but EA seems to be in bed with Sony right now. Last E3, they announced that all their upcoming games would be even better on PS3, much like Valve did with Portal 2. That's not to say that rule will remain constant this year, but right now it's in effect. Plus, if MS always shows off CoD, and EA is making B3 out to be a CoD killer, then I don't think they would put them under the same roof...

PS3 will announce along with bluray and games like GoW and SOCOM they will now bring you the ability for someone to steal your credit card information.

Exclusive to the PS3, which, btw is unhackable.

:awesome:

In all seriousness though I wonder how much PSN will influence developers and publishers. EA has been really supportive of Sony lately but with recent developments will the continue to be? What good is trying to force customers into online passes when they can't get online or fear the system is unsafe? And for smaller developers such as downloadable titles, why would they want to develop their games for and audience that may not have access to them?

This can't be good for Sony or the industry as a whole.

When it turns out that BF3 does not beat COD or if BF3 sells better on 360 then PS3 then EA will go back running to Microsoft

I doubt EA would have anything to do with Battlefront 3. If so, we'd seen it a long time ago.

I don't think anyone at any point right now other than those living in a fantasy land (EA probably haha) think it will beat Call Of Duty sales wise.
Also it's worth noting the terrible Orange Box port was EA, not Valve. Portal 2 was developers by Valve for the Playstation 3 internally by Valve and simply published retail (like the 360) by EA.
