EA Cancels NBA Live 07 for PS3

One of the highlights of Sony's E3 2006 presentation was a demonstration from EA Sports that showed the differences between the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 versions of NBA Live 07. As many had presumed from the E3 presentation, EA was gearing up to tip off the PS3 launch with the game, and at one point officially confirmed that fact.
Unfortunately for EA hoops fans, the PS3 has been cut from NBA Live 07's team of platforms. EA Sports confirmed to GameSpot today that the PS3 edition of NBA Live 07 has been canceled.
"Our PS3 designs for NBA Live are very ambitious and we did not want to rush the game this year," an EA Sports rep told GameSpot. "We expect that NBA Live will be available on PS3 next season."
All is not lost for future PS3 owners and fans of EA's basketball games, though. The rep also cited development of NBA Street Homecourt, due early next year on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
There will still be two PS3 launch-day options for basketball fans. Day-one titles include Sony's NBA 07 and 2K Sports' NBA 2K7.

This is good news. NBA Live was starting to suck, heck, it DOES suck. I had it for 360, got rid of it immediately .

EA must have listened to the PC players who complained and put up the petition (which I signed).

This can only mean good news for EA fans (not me) and the future of NBA Live.

Not good for PS3 to loose yet another game but its IS EA so I guess its good news for PS3 owners then.

We think [the cancellation of NBA Live 07 on PS3] had a lot to do with the fact that EA backed out because they didn't necessarily want to compete against a title that was so much better from a quality perspective.

Or get them to try harder to make exclusive deals with the MLB and NBA so they won't have to stop being lazy. Seriously after making deals with the NFL, NASCAR, ESPN, and the NCAA, I think they are trying to run 2K Sports in the ground.

I used to play NBA Live from EA Sports. Then it started to Suck. So i went to NBA2K6. That was a lot better.
