Early Reviews.

I'm not suprised, I expected as much from those two websites.

I don't see how this movie can be worse than the original, I literally thought that the original was one of the worse movies that I have ever seen so I find that to be a dubious claim.

Another 2 stars out of 5 from Digital Spy...

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is far from a disaster, efficiently establishing the premise and capitalising upon Nicolas Cage's star power - laden with deadpan delivery and stylised physicality. Yet while Ghost Rider himself keeps blazing, the creative fires of the film are increasingly dampened with every reel until one can't help but wish for a swift wrap-up. Expect Ghost Rider 3 to be another reboot featuring the character as a pacifist with flowers growing out of every orifice in his skull.

Most of the time I agree with Empire's and TF's reviews on movies so this doesnt fill me with a lot of hope. I had a feeling from the start this would be bad but not THIS bad.

I will see for myself next week but once the directors were announced I lost all hope for this.

i suspect there wont be a 3rd film unless this movie earns alot more then the 1st film

like the resident evil movies which dont really get good reviews by critics but just keep on coming because its still earning more and more by each movie

they wont be able to reboot it again for a 3rd time

If the audience response is positive enough there's a chance they'll continue with another movie. This doesn't have to earn a lot more than the first considering its budget was reduced down to around $80 million.

If the movie earns alot, there will be a Ghost Rider 3. If this is so bad, Sony can make a third good with good directors/writers.

Sony has two chances to make a good Ghost Rider movie, if this movie isn't good, why should anyone assume the next one will be good?

SR wasnt saying that, he/she was saying if this movie makes money, they WILL make a third movie regardless of quality. Movie-making is a business after all.

I got a few questions to ask. Some of the reviews said that the last showdown between GR and Blackout wasn't that great. Was it true? And was the pissing fire scene stayed in the film? or it was just some trailer promoting stuff?

It was far better than GR vs Blackheart in GR 1, but in terms of length or challenge, it was about the same..GR destroyed Blackout without much fuss. Yes the fire pee scene is in it...it was shown more of a visual perception by Danny, not something he physically he did in the movie.

Midnyte, Avei, what's up guys?!!? Been a really long time, hope you guys have been good!

So given the horrible reviews the film is getting, I just want to chime in with this is another case of what I went through with AvP and AvP:R. The trailer really, really looked promising. I expected a film that wouldn't be quite on the same level of the first Spider-Man or Iron Man, but at least something that could hit a Captain America. Is that so much to ask for?

I just don't get this. Ghost Rider is such an incredible character, with depth to him that in some ways, is akin to Batman. Sure Johnny Blaze isn't an insane man trying to convey that insanity in a meaningful and profound way; the guy's possessed, he's not crazy. But he's a tormented character who just wants to do right. Casting a broken actor like Nic Cage just doesn't cut it. And this sort of film needs to be dark, violent, and scary. It can't pull any punches and these stupid writers would realize that if they'd even ****ing bother to open a Ghost Rider comic and actually read one!!!

The first film had me giddy for a little while like AvP when I first saw it but after I simmered down, I realized just how awful it was. There's no way in hell (no pun intended) I'm dropping money on a ticket for this hunk of garbage.

Yeah this is a DVD/Blu-ray purchase for me... when it goes waaaay down in price.

I like the directors but I heard they didnt even write the script or anything they were basically just hired to direct it. I thought the movie was ok I really wanted to like it but to be honest I think that if the directors got to write it, it I think it would have been better.

Since many of have seen this film now, you can head over to the GR vs GR:Sov thread and compare and contrast the two films if you don't mind.

It's all about know what to expect, if anyone expects this film to be thought provoking with a good story is sorely misinformed.

The directors of this film directed the Crank series, that should pretty much let you know what you're in for and it's not giving it a "pass" or defending it's having realistic expectaction based on who's involved.

I can't defend a film I haven't seen, so there's that.

Zarathos is pretty much a corrupted angle in the comics as well, just saying.

It which case, it is simply a bad film. That doesn't mean people can't enjoy it, but it is lacking in the basics of what makes a good film I don't see how critics pointing that out can be considered wrong.

You seem to be saying that people criticizing it shouldn't do so because it was always intended to be bad. That feels backwards.

I just saw the first showing of the movie this afternoon, and i honestly- it was cool. Not epic, but i enjoyed the movie. To me, it was nice appetizer as we await for May, (Avengers) and all it's awesomeness that's soon to follow. I didn't love GR:SoV, but i didn't hate it either. I give it a 6.5/10- which isn't terrible.

[BLACKOUT]I'll be honest I should of seen SW:3D instead this movie just didn't hit a mark at all. I just found myself scratching my head during movie thinking WTF!!! Some scenes just seemed like you needed to be on crack to enjoy,lol..The cartoon flashbacks or sequences were just like huh!!!! It had some okay parts, GR looked good, fight scenes were okay, but overall just not that good imo....[/BLACKOUT]

It's worse than the first. I'm not joking either.

Im not looking for Shakespeare when I go to see a GR movie. I mean he is a joke of a character, hes a 90's 13 year old wet dream. "Whats cool? Fire-check, leather-check, skulls-check, motorcycles-check, metal spikes-check!"

I love the directors style and from the trailers it looks like they were let loose on this film. This type of character HAS to be played for fun. The first GR gave me what I wanted from a visual standpoint. these movies I go into with my brain turned-off looking to be visually entertained lol

I just saw it, and I liked it overall. It was quite a bit of an improvement from the first film. The villains are better here, and I think this captures the dark nature of the comic better than the previous film did. Still, it's a film I reccomend to "certain" people, much like Punisher:War Zone. If you're a big fan of the comics, you should check it out, as there is stuff to enjoy. If you liked the previous Nevaldine/Taylor films, you should like this too. But if you're looking for the next Blade or Blade 2-type enjoyment, well, I'm not sure you will find this to be it. Although, on dvd, a director's cut could potentially change that.

I just got back from seeing it...I thought it was great. Not Oscar-worthy or anything like that. But I was entertained for the 95 minutes it ran. I laughed a lot and thought the Rider was excellent.

Johnny Whitworth, IMO, outshined Idris Elba; I still thought he was very good.

Can you give some reason as to why please?

I haven't seen the movie yet and I'm pretty confident it's going to suck balls, but I still can't imagine that it could be worse than the first film...which was dog ****.

If this movie does good in the box office and they go forward with a third they will give the directors a budget necessary to make a action packed movie people wanted. This time around they went smaller but it hurt more then it helped. I really feel like if they had more money we would have got the crazy action we wanted.

They had a smaller budget but I cant remember anything from the first movie scopewise as big as the hellfire digger thats in the trailers
