Clint Eastwood is in talks to direct the supernatural thriller Hereafter for DreamWorks Pictures, says Variety.

The company, led by principals Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider, picked up the spec script written by Frost/Nixon scribe Peter Morgan in March when it was still a part of Paramount Pictures.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is described as in the vein of The Sixth Sense.

Kathleen Kennedy is producing.

Love Clint and this is a fresh genre for him, can't wait to see what he does with it.

Clint Eastwood is in talks to direct the supernatural thriller "Hereafter" for DreamWorks.

Company, led by principals Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider, picked up the spec penned by "Frost/Nixon" scribe Peter Morgan in March when it was still a part of Paramount Pictures. DreamWorks held onto the project as part of its separation pact with the Melrose studio and has been wooing Eastwood to board the project for months.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is described as in the vein of "The Sixth Sense."

Kathleen Kennedy is producing.

Eastwood, who has two films in awards season contention this year -- "The Changeling" and "Gran Torino" -- previously worked with Spielberg on "Flags of Our Fathers" and "Letters From Iwo Jima," both of which Spielberg produced.

This one sounds interesting, looking forward to it.

Clint doing a supernatural thriller with Matt Damon? Sounds interesting.

Wow, this sounds very interesting. Eastwood directing a supernatural thriller with Matt Damon? I will definitely be looking out for this.

I know he retired from the genre with Unforgiven but I sure would love to see another Eastwood directed western.

Belgian actress Cecile de France will star opposite Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood's supernatural drama Hereafter for Warner Bros., says Variety.

The movie, written by Peter Morgan, tells the story of three people who are touched by death in different ways. De France will play a French journalist who has a near-death experience.

Filming began last month on Hereafter, produced by Eastwood, Kathleen Kennedy and Robert Lorenz. Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Peter Morgan and Tim Moore are the executive producers.

Shooting will take place in Paris, London, Hawaii and San Francisco. The studio is targeting a December 2010 release.

It's already started shooting! :wow: Clint wastes no time. :woot:

Eastwood can do no wrong.

side note: As an actor I'd wish he'd do a cameo in Marvel movies as Nick Fury.

I know he retired from the genre with Unforgiven but I sure would love to see another Eastwood directed western.

So do I but Eastwood + the supernatural has me very interested in this project.

You all know that this is his second time doing supernatural. Pale Rider is in actuality a supernatural western film. Clint plays a ghost cowboy.

To be honest, out of all the Eastwood films I have seen, that is one of the very few that has slipped by.

Bryce Dallas Howard will star opposite Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood's supernatural drama Hereafter for Warner Bros. Pictures, says Variety.

Hereafter tells the story of three people -- a blue-collar American, a French journalist and a London school boy — who are touched by death in different ways.

The project is produced by Eastwood, Kathleen Kennedy and Robert Lorenz. Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Peter Morgan and Tim Moore are the executive producers.

Peter Morgan wrote the script for the film, which will shoot in Paris, London, Hawaii and San Francisco. The movie is scheduled for a December 2010 release.

Looks like Bryce will be a brunette in the movie. Here's a recent pic of her sporting darker hair

I think Bryce has a great Indie thing going on, but anytime she does something that's mainstream, it kinda flops (Spider-Man 3 even though it made money, Terminator Salvation).

But I root for her because she's beautiful and talented. a movie like this can only help.

It's funny that she always plays in thirds or forths when she locks down roles in big franchises.

Terminator Salvation

Spider-Man 3

Eclispe

I'm still hoping for that one mainstream non-disappointing hit from her because she is so talented and she is one of the most beautiful actresses working today IMHO.

This cast sounds great, I'm looking forward to seeing how this movie shapes up.
