Elder Scrolls V - Part 3

Ok, so I've been very timidly playing the game. I completed the thieves guild and the assassin's guild without encountering any spiders. I fast travel as much as possible and in lieu of that, I travel by water (as there don't seem to be swimming spiders).

I recently decided I want a unique sword so I've set out to obtain Dawnbreaker. Unfortunately, Meridia's Beacon was located in a dungeon which had a frostbite spider in it. When I saw it, I panicked. Then I remembered that you guys said fire works wonders. I have not been playing as a mage but rather a stealthy warrior. So the only fire spell that I had was the default one that everyone starts with. So I equipped and tried it. F***er lit up and was dead before it even saw me. You guys weren't kidding when you said fire works wonders on them. :wow:

So it is official. Matt is becoming a mage!

My skin crawls whenever I hear spiders too. The Fire Breath shout works well on them too. It works well on everyone.:hehe:

soo.......is the XBOX version fairly bug-free and safe to play?

after hearing/reading all the horror stories with the PS3 version, I've finally given in and I'm going to get Skyrim for the 360 for XMAS.

I've heard some people saying that playing Skyrim on the 360 is like a "world's difference" than playing on the PS3 and that the 360 version is really the "superior" version.

would that be fair to say?

The only problem I've run into is the Battle for Windhelm. The game crashed on me three times before I actually got to fight Ulfric.

I love using fire breath in an oiled room. Especially with my 92% fire resistance. BURN ****ERS BURN.

I wish the unique items were more powerful/unique. You can easily get to a point where you have the best armor and weapons in the game from smithing/enchanting, and every single piece of loot in the game is trivial at that point. Even before I got to 100 in both I found myself just using the Skyforge Steel Sword the whole time because I wasn't finding anything better.

Hopefully the expansions will add some high level, awesome, loot.

Skyforge Steel is best until you get to Ebony I think. I've been using an Orchish Sword and Dagger though, I didn't join the Companions and I can't buy any Skyforge from the smith. The Orcish looks better with my character anyway.

BTW, I'm level 24 and just have Steel and Elven smithing. Is it a good time to start power leveling that **** up? I could go for some Ebony stuff (even though I'm sticking to light armor).

I'd hold off bit, I didn't start grinding smithing/enchanting until I was in my 40s. You'll probably start finding Ebony stuff out in the world soon (there are some missions that give you some, too). Because, like I said, once you start down then smithing/enchanting rabbit hole, it's not at all exciting to find weapons/armor in the world, which is kind of a bummer.

You should be good at level 24. But level both enchanting AND smithing. My Daedric Greatsword is godly right now. 184 damage, 31 fire and 31 electric per hit.

I haven't been finding anything great and I'd like to improve my Shrouded Armor which I can't do until I hit 60 in Smithing.

When you do smithing take some fortify smithing potions too. And where as many pieces of jewellery/clothes to bump up your skill.

Blisterwort, glowing mushrooms and spriggan saps make fortify smithing.

I encountered some spiders in the forest. I saw them at a distance and it was two of them, they had their two front legs up in the air like they were ready to attack and it freaked me out.

hahah just close your eyes and swing until they die. :o

anyways I always check where arrows hit my character.

Haha, the spiders are easy to kill, don't worry! If not by fire I usually just hit them over the head with a two-handed weapon.

Aside from fixing the UI. It seems modders have dug into the base and also optimized it properly to the point it runs a whopping 40% better.

I have a very really very good computer, so it doesn't mean much to me. But if you are sitting around 20-30fps, it seems pretty logical to try it.

Finished the Thieves Guild to unlock the Nightingale Armor. Used a mod to craft a Nightingale Amulet and silver ring to give me a couple enchantments I wanted. Now I'm pretty much unstoppable. Going to try to increase my Illusion skills some more.

i got attacked by two dragons at the same time for like an hour, it was not fun

Just FYI... When you think you're done with the Thieves Guild... You're not. There are more quests you can do that will unlock the Leader Armor and you'll officially be named leader of the guild.

Cool story, bro.

Actually, I forgot about that. It's also worth noting as well (in case you didn't read, the read me) that the latest patch for the pc adds 4gb support to make full use of your memory. Which was (obviously) implimented almost day one at launch by users. The use of a custom EXE to make full use of your systems memory is no longer required.

I don't care

Given thats about the fourth time today repeated, with practically all of them not specifically addressing you in any manner, actions would suggest otherwise. It seems more along the lines of an objection to an opinion as opposed to apathy. It would seem obvious that it's probably specifically due to certain criticisms Skyrim has received. Thats fine, I totally respect your right man. It's probably best to try keep it constructive. For the most part, it's completely off topic and to be honest, it comes across as abit on the juvenile side.

The examples above, the rather huge 40% speed increase due to optimization. The game only using 2gb of ram, as oppossed to a more fuller potential, when you thiink about it, it's basically an outright demonstration. The UI patch, as well as the 4gb patch, would also suggest acknowledgment of the criticisms. I mean, what else would it be? A developer not listening to feedback would be downright silly.
