Ive been havng trouble getting back into Skyrim. Im gonna try again this weekend

I'm having the same problem...but with ME 3. Think i'm gonna wait till i got all the DLC's.

It's kinda like suing Sam Raimi for promising to make Spidey 4...it's silly:oldrazz:

You did not signed a contract where it said that Beth Guaranteed you Dawnguard. You bought and paid for Skyrim. See Dawnguard as kind of a sequel. You did not put down payment for it or any kind.

Anyway...as for shooters game. Have you thought about giving FO3 a try?

It's very much like Skyrim, only with guns and missile launchers and you don't have to be a COD expert to be able to play it.

No, it's suing someone who promised you a high end cappucino and serving you instant coffee instead. If they cannot give us Dawnguard, then they should give us content we can rub in your faces that you cannot have.

P.S. I can't shoot straight worth a damn and I do not enjoy games like Halo, COD, etc. etc. I like the medieval sword stuff better because I hate those modern world placed games. I dislike guns of all sort too, virtual or otherwise. Like I said I am not a markswoman at all. Closest I get to guns are bowguns in the Monster Hunter games, and that was only because Tri didn't have bows like in the PSP versions of the game. I like Sci Fi fantasy instead. So Elder Scrolls and Monster Hunter is all I really play.

You don't need to be a markswoman, trust me.There's a...system in that game that makes it easier for you to aim.

And it's nothing like COD or HALO...or any other game i can think of...it's...Skyrim with guns!

Besides...it's not...natural to play Skyrim and Oblivion without giving FO 3 a try

Just give it a try, woman!

Skyrim with guns!

Dude, you can totally play Fallout3 if you don't want to use guns. Feel free to use baseball bats, billy clubs, kitchen knives and even your fists!

I think you might want to use the nuke rocket launcher though. I don't know how anyone could pass on that.

LOL true! i forgot there's even a perk for unarmed combat! paralyzing palm!

...Fatman! no need to be a sniper to use that!

*Ahem* That's Dudette.

And I'm more into Medieval Fantasy type games, not really post-apocalyptic or horror type games. Not really interested in Fallout. Too modern for my taste.

I'm just curious...have any of you actually cooked the recipes found in Uncommon Taste from the Gourmet? I mean cooking his recipes is the least we can do for him after killing him and dumping his body where he can't be found.

i know Hearthfire only recently came out, but there is one thing i want from the next DLC: fully customizable clothes

i want to be able to change the very color of the tunic, or the shoes, hat, etc. just like you can in the Fable series. i like some of the stuff they already offer, but i love the color blue, and they don't cater to that color enough. i want to be able to design my own clothes, and then be able to sell them, even through XBOX online to other players via the in-game money system or something. they've got some great ideas in the clothing department, but like the mods for the PC version, they need to bring this kind of customization to the consoles, so those, like me, who have the console version, are not left in the cold

I like The troll mod. That's inspired.

hey guys, just wondering......how fast/powerful of a laptop do I need to run Skyrim on a "reasonable" setting?

I'm not a PC gamer, and I'm not looking to get all hardcore into it, so I'm not looking for a tricked out gaming rig.

would something like this work?

or this?

and besides Skyrim, I'm also interested in SWTOR, Guild Wars 2, ME 3, Diablo 3........

I think you're not really into co-op/multiplayer but it really is excellent on ME3. Should give it 1 try if you're struggling to get back into it.

Neither of those are that great. With the 2nd one you'll be able to play at the lowest settings, but you'll have to play at a low resolution if you want to have a playable frame rate and even then it'll be choppy. The systems are fantastic except for one thing: Their graphics. They use something called integrated graphics which isn't the best when it comes to anything beyond playing HD videos.

I'm fairly sure this laptop will run those games fine. I'm not entirely sure about Guild Wars 2 but yeah, it should be able to handle it.

If you're not planning on travelling or using the laptop for other things I highly recommend you just build a PC coz with that kind of cash you can easily put together a beastly rig with a couple hundred to spare. Especially coz some high-end graphics cards recently dropped in price.

This. I put together a rig that could run BF3 at high settings for 600 bux(minus monitor) over at Newegg. Didnt end up getting it tho.

Anyone in UK know how much a pc setup that can play the best current games at top setting would cost?

Reddit has a really great community dedicated to exactly that lol, you can find it here.

It's great for reading up on computer parts and whatnot but you can also just start a topic and get answers instead of digging around. It's not as complicated as you might think. I'm not sure what to recommend coz I don't know what you're going for or what you're willing to spend but I can tell you that the processor and graphics card will be the most expensive things you purchase.

Around 400 pounds I think if you're gonna be buying everything from scratch (like a case, power supply etc. etc.) If it helps you could look at it like you're purchasing a next-gen console. :D

Ah so that's a lot better than I was expecting. Does it need to be a desktop?

Edit: just read som earlier posts. Hmmm.

You're right. Not really into online co-op thing. I like my game to be MY game if that makes any sense.:oldrazz:

Next DLC is gonna be Omega, right? so i guess i'll wait till then.

Right now, running around with Serana and Lydia killing Elves is still tons of fun, so..

@ masterchief

What are you playing now?

have you seen this ENB mod for FO3? looks fantastic!

http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/18107

Yea I'd tell anyone to do that. I would of purchased a desktop pc a looong time ago but I despise pcs and just didn't have the money. I think going into the next gen tho ill do it.

I used to desise PC gaming until i got really into FO3.Now, i can't imagine playing it on the console ( not a dig to those console players of course! i played FO3 on the XBOX for more than a year!)

I guess one of the main reason for me is convenience. If you're having problems with your fav game, there's always a way to fix it on the PC.

And like Chief has already pointed out, PC these days doesn't have to be expensive. And it's a good investment in the long run.

And to keep this on topic; i was fighting the Thalmor soldiers and was thinking how in the hell did a bunch of silly looking elves gives the Nords so many problems?...then igot fried a couple of times by their wizards and then i was like...aahh...so That's how...

I was always like that but once I tried a few co-op things I loved it. And this is really up there with the best of these kind of modes. One game can't hurt right? :woot: They take about 15 mins (or less if you fail). But it's cool I know you're into the single player Fallout/Elder Scrolls full RPG thing.

On Skyrim I can't believe I wait 8 months for one gamebreaking glitch to be fixed and run straight into another! At least I have faith that all these bugs get fixed one day but it's kind of stolen my DLC excitement away a bit.

You're thinking of buying a desktop, ice?

DO IT!

:oldrazz:
Well as possible alternatives I have a really good mac in my main room that I use for all computer related stuff but I think it's not all that simple to play games on (unless they are already converted for mac). I have a few years old pc desktop in a different room that isn't really appropriate for gaming (the room) & a broken laptop also a few years old that I could get fixed. Don't know what specs they are offhand but can find out tonight & I guess they could be upgraded. What are the specs needed for BF3/Skyrim on max at the moment?

If that £400 price point for a new desktop from scratch that can play the best games is anyway close it would be fine (was expecting £1k plus), just need to think where to put it.

PC instead of next XBox or as well as?
