Dishonored wasn't developed by Bethesda so you have nothing to worry about.

I wonder if any NPC's will be able to ride dragons. It's probably too much to hope for, but some sort of midair combat would be pretty amazing (although I suppose you could battle unmounted dragons too).

Im all for some more Skyrim. Im assuming this DLC will be out sometime in novemeber. Cant wait.

That might be a bit optimistic (although I'm all for optimism), Bethesda haven't made an official announcement yet. Does anyone remember how long it was between the announcement of Dawnguard and it's release?

well, I hope so, cuz Dishonored looks amazing.

it is published by Bethesda, right? so, it's still "guilty by association" in my mind......lol

it's just.......a frustration. at this point in the console's lifecycle, you should have NO excuse for not knowing how to properly program a game for it. especially when you had prior attempts ( the Fallout games ) with similar complaints.

I think sometimes around December or January instead.

I think sometimes around December or January instead.

Id think they'd want to get out in front of the Holiday rush. December i can see but i dont think it moves past that, unless they are just going to cruise into Spring before announcing anything.

^^you're probably right. It's gonna be most likely out in December.

The DLC's for Skyrim comig out pretty fast though. I can remember the DLC's for FO3 and NV took awhile before they came out.

Id also figure theyd want to do something around the one year mark of Skyrims release. I mean they have to know ppl will go through the code to find these bits of info, so maybe the announcement for this next DLC is right around the corner.

This is also a good reason why they might release it in November.

I forgot that Skyrim was released in November. I bought my copy in December...

I remember a while ago that it was confirmed that Skyrim contained landmass of almost all the places in Tamriel, including Imperial city, which is most likely a placeholder for the DLC's...

After 119 hours, I finally beat the main quest. It feels as if this game ended quite abrupt as I didnt even realize I was doing the final mission. Im not really satisfied with how it ended. Oh well, guess I need to look into doing the DLC now

Facing off against the evil king of dragons in the underworld alongside ancient warriors after riding a dragon to storm his Earthly stronghold wasn't climatic enough for you? :woot:

Nope. Felt anticlimatic. Not much seems to have change and it didnt feel rewarding at all. I didnt think the final battle would occur there and I was hoping for a twist in the story. I didnt think Alduin would actually be killed there and thought there would be some big epic battle in Skyrim. The big army battles in the Civil War sidequest felt more epic. What was the point of building the Blades back up? I seriously thought they would be more useful in the end with a legion of them behind me going into battle against Alduin and his followers. The end did feel like a letdown.

It was pretty underwhelming. I had a much more epic fight against dragons towards the end of the Dawnguard quest than I did against Alduin.

They deff did not. It didnt feel like a war at all. It felt like a tiny little skirmish. Of all story elements in this game, that was the weakest.

Yep, that, too. The Battle for Bruma in Oblivion was much bigger than any of the Imperial vs Stormcloak battles.

Maybe I've just played Skyrim more than anyone else on the planet, but it's really not that great of a game.

I actually felt a greater sense of reward beating Oblivion than I did Skyrim

I did, too. The story felt better, it wasn't just exploring one Nordic ruin after another. One thing that annoys me in Skyrim whenever I start a new character is I have to go through so much to start learning Shouts. It's not until then that you really are free to explore. Whereas in Oblivion, you can do whatever you want after you escape from the sewers.

Wha...? you're only required to learn one shout after you fight your first dragon. After that you can explore to your heart's content. I've been going around Skyrim for more than 40 hours now without going anywhere near the main quest.

That would be me

I've got 270 hours according to Steam.

I mean you can't learn shouts before speaking to the Greybeards which requires doing the stuff in Whiterun.

I've learned shouts without even speaking to the Greybeards yet. And the stuff in the Whiterun was a quickie...speak to the Jarl, and if you've done the dragonstone quest while you were helping those store owners find their dragonclaws in the bleakfalls barrow, you've immidiately got to fight your first dragon. The whole thing took maybe 30 minutes at most.

Oh and according to steam, i'v got close to 700 hours in total since i've bought the game...hehe

Damn, you dudes are hard to impress! I thought it was epic as all get out.

That said, I did enjoy the civil war battles more. I was sad there weren't that many battles, or that soldiers wouldn't continue spawning infinitely (I always stayed in one are until they stopped spawning) but it was a lot of fun. Hopefully when the High Elves invade we'll get some more, maybe even bigger, battles.

^^ i'm impressed!

But i'm guessing it's more on how you like the overall story. If you like it, the ending will be more satisfying to you automatically.I definitely love Skyrim's story more than Oblivion's. I thought that the main storyline in Oblivion is just paint-by-the number 'the chosen óne'tripe. Of ccourse, in essence, Skyrim is too...but it's better structured, got this sense of deep tradition-with them mainly focusing on the Nords...and much better athmosphere.

I was hooked on the main storyline the moment Paarthy explained to you on how and why Alduin has returned...that was a great moment and great twist to me.
