Mystery/Thriller Elementary - CBS's Modern Take on Sherlock

This sounds terrible. Liu is an average actress at best and making Watson a woman is just silly. It's no longer Sherlock Holmes; it's Remington Steele or some sh**.

And Johnny Lee Miller hasn't been great in anything since Trainspotting. He was okay on Dexter, but mostly just because he's gotten really weird looking.

You know that, if this goes forward, Holmes and Watson are gonna end up ****ing. :csad:

Good lord....
You mean they hasven't been for years ? Could have fooled me.:awesome:

But yes this seem just a reason to add some sexual tension without making it gay between Sherlock & Watson . They should just turn the show into a comlplete spoof.

This is just soundest worse and worse...

on the other hand I should really get around to watching Southland...

Yeah...

I'm gonna go ahead and skip this.

I don't hate Liu as an actor, but I think this is stunt casting. Seems like they eventually want to address the sexual tension and not make it homoerotic like other iterations.

I don't know what to think about this, I guess if they really wanted to set this apart from BBC's Sherlock and Downey Jr.'s Sherlock this is one way to do it, add to thatthe chemistry between the characters can go one step further than the usual. Time will tell how this goes but I'm not a fan of Liu so I won't have high expectations.

Wow...a female Watson played by Lucy Liu? Holmes and Watson in a will they/won't they romance perhaps? Haha, it should be fun watching this train wreck.

Hey it worked for Kathryn Erbe. :o

I don't know much about Sherlock but even I know romance doesn't play a big role in his stories.

Yeah... I really hope there isn't any sexual tension between them. I mean making Watson female is just strange already.

I'll still give it a chance until I see some footage, despite me not being too keen on the casting of Liu. I don't get why he was a former Scotland Yard consultant though. if they're going to Americanize it, then Americanize it.

Am I the only one on here who has seen the movie THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS (1971).....in then modern day New York, a man who believes he is Sherlock Holmes (George C. Scott) is treated by a female psychiatrist named Watson (Joanne Woodward)....

Not exactly the same as what we have heard for this series....but similar...plus it means this series isn't the first time there has been a female Watson.

I would rather watch a show starring John Holmes and Emma Watson.

So they just sort of ripped off something else? Geez am I not looking forward to this. CBS is a terrible channel, the series has no shot of being as good as the other version just because it's on the such a channel, so why should I even give it a shot?

Hmmm, not sure what to make of the ideas going into this, at least they are trying something I guess.

Yeah...for all the stuff I was saying about them doing a new take and not directly ripping off Sherlock...I was hoping for a new take that wasn't this...

I'll still watch.. but my hopes went down the toilet.

I'm not against the casting of a female Watson. However, it's the casting of Liu that has me concerned. I'm still interested enough to watch it, but I'm lowering my expectation after seeing this news.

It could be worst, Watson could be a robot like in Sherlock In The 22nd Century cartoon series :woot:

Watson was married twice and Holmes is pretty much asexual
Spielberg produced YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES 25 or so years ago....it wasn't a modern setting, but a teenage Holmes....
I remember the Canadian show The Adventures Of Shirley Holmes that aired from the mid to late 90s.

F**K YOU CBS

Seriously, I have no hope for this. Normally I'm quite objective and new shows, but this has irked me something rotten. I'll watch, and possibly get wound up lol. Clearly a blatent and shameless cash in

Set photos of Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.

This Sherlock wears a scarf too argh, nah but if there's anything in this show that I think can actually be good it's JLM's performance, I have high hopes for at least him turning out well.
