I was wondering when the next Grindhouse *trailer* would get the feature film treatment. Roth has been threatening this one for a decade and a half...

I'll check this out on streaming - might be worth a chuckle or two...

Isn't this being made cause Borderlands went off the rails and Roth was "kicked" off? Guess he needed to go back to his small indie route.

This feels at least a decade too late. I loved Grindhouse back when it came out but I can't really muster any excitement for this. I liked the original trailer well enough but I'm not an Eli Roth fan.

Man, get excited with me Driz. I was today years old when I found out this was happening and now I can't stop smiling.

Perfect movie to take some edibles with and laugh when the trampoline knife scene hits.

I loved the Thanksgiving trailer so much back in the day. Even bought the T-shirt. When Roth announced that he was making the movie, I was ecstatic.

And here we are, all these years later, and he’s still saying that he’s maybe kinda sorta definitely making it. Just let it go, Eli. You’re a joke.

Does he even count as a real director anymore?

But they replaced Michael Biehn. :csad:

Good point. His filmography is oddly underwhelming, the odd cult classic horror movie notwithstanding...

Apparently he wrote, produced, and directed Thanksgiving so hopefully he's invested enough not to just phone it in this time...

Fun fact, I just noticed this filmed in Hamilton Ontario which is only about half an hour from where I live haha...

I'm a sucker for anniversary slasher films so I'll definitely be checking this out when it hits one of the streaming services for sure :yay:

Ah, I guess I should have actually watched the video you posted. :D Glad to see it’s actually been filmed, so (hopefully) that means we’ll see it soon.

No worries my friend!

Let me know what you think when you get around to watching it...

You and I seem to have similar tastes in film so I look forward to discussing it with you :yay:

Likewise! I definitely look forward to your thoughts on it.

We need a slasher film for every holiday. At least New Year’s Eve. For some reason I have a bad history with that holiday.

So someone else needs to pay. :cmad:

I have a complicated relationship with New Year's Eve, too. I've been avoiding it for years, even pre-pandemic. The noise, the crowds, the expense...

How's this for a New Year's Eve slasher movie tagline?

"Happy New Year? You Wish."

I like it! And it should feature all the actors from that god-awful New Year’s Eve rom com movie from a few years back, getting butchered in horrific ways. :D

I know its only 53 seconds, but that was a pretty awesome little teaser. Obviously, I wish they kept Michael Biehn and the Grindhouse aesthetic, but this looks like a fun, gnarly, old-school slasher flick.

Hopefully, the trampoline death is as nasty as it was in the OG trailer.

Still bummed about Michael Biehn being dropped but from the trailer this looks like it could be a fun watch. I'll check it out once it's on streaming/VOD for old times' sake.

I was about to make a joke that there should be a horror movie based on Arbor Day but lo and behold...

The lack of the retro vibe of the original trailer is definitely a turn-off, and Roth isn't exactly inspiring confidence these days. But it could be fun.
