I guess I'm just a really big fan of classic Connery-as-Bond.
Same here, dude! I love the Connery films 10x more than the other Bond movies.
YOLT was good yes, but it was woefully obvious that Sean was bored out of his mind with the role, which detracted from the film's appeal to me.
Even if he was bored he still managed to give a really good performance. That's how good Connery is. Even when he's bored he still gives an awesome performance.
I like DAF a lot as well, it just lacks that cool-as-hell 60s vibe that Thunderball had in spades.
It was 1971. The movie would have flopped if it was still stuck in the `60s. For the first `70s Bond movie I thought it looked great.
