We've only heard fleetingly of Jamie Babbit's horror thriller THE QUIET, which is wholly surprising considering it stars Elisha Cuthbert and Camilla Belle. Fortunately, we won't need to break any laws or torture anyone to get our hands on the film as Sony Pictures Classics recently picked up the film for North American distribution. In it, Camilla stars as a deaf and mute orphan who's placed with her godparents (played by Edie Falco and Martin Donovan) and their daughter (played by Elisha) and quickly discovers that the family is a lot more sinister than they appear.
The family's seedy underbelly is even more exposed when Elisha's character decides she wants to take a hot shower with Camilla's character and worse yet, Camilla's character likes it - the trauma of that realization sends her into a drug-fueled rampage of lesbian romps unlike any the world has ever seen. It's a bone-chilling portrayal that extends beyond the boundaries of our reality and space time itself. Wait a minute, are we talking about some sci fi or ghost lesbians? Whoa, we may have veered significantly off-course here.
