Don't know what to think about this. I feel that the role isn't that important, but then again I've always liked her a lot, and Like her a lot in this role, so I don't know.

I like(d) her as Betty, acknowledging the paucity of the role as its existed for the prior three films, and was hoping she'd eventually get to do more with it (ideally, it would have been SM3, but that's not worth getting into).

I can't blame her. Three times in a role is plenty and if there's nothing more to be done other than a couple of quick lines and maybe 114 seconds of screentime, why bother? ...especially if she could be pursuing a decent sized role elsewhere?

She didn't even have a minor role in any of the three movies... it was more of a cameo, a nod to the comic book fans if anything at all. So I can see why she wouldn't jump at the chance to come back to do something so trivial, especially at a time when her career is starting to take off.

Saying that though, even if her role is a minor one again, it can't be more than a couple of days of shooting at best. So with some proper scheduling, I can't see why she couldn't pull away to film something minor in the middle of another project if it really came down to it.

Porno will probably be a hit. She has a decent career ahead of her... I am just glad we got three films out of her.

she comes to the set films her 1 minute scene and can go home. tons of actors appear in a 2 minute scene in movies.

He was seen at Harry's funeral as well.

Hopefully in the next movie they'll introduce Charlie and Lilly.

I'd like to be proven wrong, but I wouldn't count on it being a hit. The TV spots have been insanely vague and quick (i.e. they just basically show off Banks and Rogen dancing in his boxers!)

Then again, it was a relatively low budget production (i.e. $25 million, correct me if I'm wrong). So it might be profitable in theatres, but I highly doubt that...

Spider-Man 3 was Raimi & Co.'s chance to showcase Banks' Betty Brant and use her as the "other girl" for Peter - instead they opted to throw Gwen Stacey in that role.

Honestly, I don't blame Banks for not wanting to come back if it's "more of the same!"

Besides...she'd be a great Lois Lane for the Superman reboot. Plus, she and Brandon Routh actually have good chemistry.

Totally agreed. Perfect opportunity for her character to be expanded upon but instead Gwen was forced into the movie. Just another missed opportunity among many in that film.

But seriously. I understand she's blowing up and everything, but would it really kill her to take a bit role in such a big movie? As if suddenly she's just too big for the role.

Just because you have a starring role in a Kevin Smith movie, doesn't mean you suddenly have the weight to dismiss Betty Brant.

Only difference is that they've been a bigger factor in helpign her career than Raimi and the Spidey movies have.

Having the Spider-Man films on her resume certainly hasn't hurt her career either has it?There are a lot of actresses who would kill for a 'favor' like that.

I like Banks in the role and hope that she returns for the sequels for continuity's sake. It would be nice if they could flesh out her character and other Bugle staff members such as Robbie Robertson a bit more this time around.

In the last movie there was some flirtation going on between Peter and Betty. I'd like to see that taken a little further.t:

In industry terms, what Banks is doing is often part of "negotiations."

However, sometimes it can indeed backfire (tough luck, Terence Howard).

I, too, would like to see Banks back with the Spidey franchise -- but I guess they'll have to create something worthwhile for her...
