Daredevil Elodie Yung IS Elektra!

I hope that she shows up in the next season of Daredevil since somebody had to get Matt to safety. I'd also like to see her appear in a second Season of Defenders just so she can help Iron Fist save K'un-L'un and atone for her mistakes. Then she can get her own series.

All of the above would be cool with me.

Same here. The more Elektra they can implement without just shoehorning her in, the better. :D

There are two major problems that face an Elektra solo series. The first would be supporting characters. Because Elektra isn't one to form relationships, establishing decent supporting characters for her show will be difficult. This is an issue for The Punisher as well, but it does seem the Netflix writers have that one all figured out with Micro, Micro's family, Dinah, Karen, and others.

Elektra is an interesting character, and Elodie Yung is perfect in the part, but I don't think she has the ability to stand on her own yet. Not just because she hasn't been set up for it yet (no mission, no enemies) but because with particularly monstrous characters, especially a sociopath like Elektra who enjoys killing and the high she gets from it, a lack of a humanizing figure means that their story can be difficult to invest in. Also, Elektra is heavily tied to Daredevil, meaning that to get Elektra a standalone series, you would have to cut Matt out entirely to prevent it from becoming a Daredevil show. Problem is, when she's independent, Elektra shows some pretty disturbing and selfish tendencies without any particular redeeming qualities.

The basics for the story are there.

The leadership for the Hand is gone so it's just a bunch of mercenaries for hire. She can be like The Alias tv show going around killing former Hand members and the people hiring them. Atoning for her actions in Defenders.

You could easily make her own series inspired by one of her many arcs from the comics.

You could go Elektra: Assassin and have her taking out sections of the Hand while she's also running from her own issues of death. The supporting cast could be easily made up of a John Garrett-like character (since he died in AoS). She could have an antagonist following her killings, Chastity McBryde. I'd probably not involve any SHIELD stuff but have her as part of Interpol agency or something.

You could even have it play out as Elektra telling her tale like Bendis did in the 2001 arc "Scorpio Key". Play it up and write it so she's an unreliable narrator and that she could be a skewing things to her favor.

If she ever does get a series, Zeb Wells should showrun it.

Good points. It will be a challenge but they've made most of the characters work very well so far so when they take it on I think they'll be aware of these issues and be able to work round them. The Punisher could have had some similar issues (but didn't).

Even though Elektra's ostensibly the star of Elektra: Assassin, it should be noted that that story is narrated by Garrett and is told through the lens of his fixation on her.

Sort of. Most of the narration is that way, but the first issue is narrated mostly from her viewpoint and it'll occasionally go back to her viewpoint. Unless you're a fan of something being deliberately confusing, the narrative structure is not the strength of the book.

You could easily have her be the narrator. Just like the first issue of Elektra Assassin, and the first issue Bendis wrote of her where she talks about the tale of her life and how she got the "Scorpio Key". A series could easily be made and I would certainly hope Zeb Wells would show run if it ever happened as he is one of the few current writers who really understands her.

Would be interesting to see for a change at least.
