EMPIRE Exclusive!!

I keep seeing people complain about V for Vendetta in this thread, but I really, REALLY don't see why. I thought it was friggin' beautiful.

If I had one complaint about the movie so far (and it's a minor one), it would be that that shot of Rorschach makes his head and the hat look kinda funny. Otherwise, I'm absolutely awestruck.

PS - To the guy who says the movie doesn't look 'real world' enough, I'd argue that it's stylized as differently from the real world as the book was. It's perfect.

I'm sure the pitchforks and fire are going to come out for me saying it, but, I thought V for Vendetta is one of the very few times I liked the movie more than the book. What's more astounding is that I'm really not a Wachowski fan either. I was impressed with it. As far as adaptations go though I don't feel it was very good.

I hadn't read the whole book when I saw it, only like 30 or so pages in before I had to leave the bookstore (lol).. but man, when I saw V in the film, the way he moved, that voice.. I fell in love with the movie. And the message it painted was so powerful. Unforgivingly beautiful and powerful.

Honestly I have little interest in finishing the book anymore, I just want to get the DVD. If I can get the book too, cool, but if I could only afford one, I'd easily choose the movie.

The book has a different ending.
I saw the movie and liked it, but afterwards I read the book, and I love it so much more. I prefer the ending in the book, as well as the way he handles some guys.
It's worth finishing.

I totally will then! Thanks for the motivation! :woot:

i thought the movie was pretty inaccurate...v's anarchism (although hinted at with the goldman quote) was severely underplayed and that was the heart and soul of the book. i could see how someone would think about them as separate entities but for some reason thats impossible for me to do with moore's work. I will say though that if I had never read the book I'm sure to have enjoyed the movie, its just that the timing prevents me from doing so.

Anyone have a link to a higher-res version of the covers?
