Did anybody like it?

I thought it was great and epic movie, which was a bit underrated by critics and didn't get Oscar Awards.

Spielberg and Bale made great work with this movie. It was wonderful movie about the kid, who spend his years in Japan camp.

I gave it 9 out of 10.

So what is your opinion about this movie?

one of my favorite movies of all time, I saw it back when it came out and fell in love with it, and that was even before I developed a taste for the cinema

still in my top ten after all these years

This movie is in my TOP5 :)

I tend to not like Speilberg's "true story" movies.

I'm more of a Jurassic Park/WotW kinda guy

I don't recall it being a true story

but it is one of the best movies he's ever done

Wow, how many threads do you make a day?

On-topic: I started watching it once, but I never finished it.

When I say "true story" I mean historical fiction

No, you were right the first time, it was based on an actual person.

I really liked the movie. Then years later I interviewed a veteran of the Pacific Theatre in WW2 who was a POW, and complained the movie completely underplayed how abominable the Japanese were to their prisoners.

I still like the movie however. I think it was Spielberg's first "serious" movie, and arguably still the best (maybe this and Schindler's List).

Fan.tas.tic
