Iron Man Ending Question (SPOILER)

Hoping someone can explain, in pseudo-science terms if need be, why Obidiah fries but not Tony. Hoping for a 2-3 reply deal at the most here.

I'm just gonna say something along the lines of something that was in the movie - he's not Tony Stark. lol :oldrazz:
Na,maybe it's coz his armour was open.
Or it could be coz his armour isn't as advanced as Stark's :yay:

I didn't quite get this either. They made a big deal out of how is she pushed the button he'd die, she did and he lived. I'm not sure if it's supposed to suggest that he somehow avoided most of the blast that the Iron Monger took, or that Stark just has "the heart" to come back to life after seemingly dying. I liked the film, but this part was pretty sloppy.

I think we saw him move and avoid the blast at the last minute.

I think the point was that the blast was basically an EMP, which means Stane's suit (full power, with him fully hooked up to it) burnt out completely, while Tony's Arc Reactor failed momentarily which means his suit wasn't overloaded by the blast, but then it came back on at the end with the reserve power.

Since we're on the subject of "ending questions", how did Stark not die when his prototype "heart" flickered out at the end, and the advanced model was destroyed along with Iron Monger?

Ok now that's a good question CaptainStacy, wait did you mean when his prototype heart was removed by the bad guy in the middle of the film? I'm assuming will power by Tony, hes a strong guy, I think when some one or he wants to do some thing he puts in all his will and might to do it. Ask for the topic I did see Tony move before the blast happened, hope that helped.

It's not a heart. It just keeps the shrapnel from piercing his heart (any further).

I can't wait to see what the Mark IV looks like though after this one got trashed. As cool as it was you just know Stark's going to go nuts with the variations. I'm betting on Silver Centurion. That one's about as iconic as any other. Think that circle will be kept for all of his armors though instead of using the triangle.

Sorry about that Savage, I know that but I didn't know how to say it the person, so I just wrote how I could reply to the users question. Guess I could have just explained that to the user the way you did and give the reply to the question too eh?

It's alright. You guys just made it seem like if they pulled that piece out he should instantly die when really it doesn't work like a pacemaker but it just helps. It keeps him from possibly dying. I think they mentioned without it he'd have a week before dying or something. I'm sure it'd be one painful week though.

Ok, got it. Thats true, he'd be in a heck of a lot of pain for him. Luckly he had an extra, his old one that really helped the guy out.

Stane died because he did not have a mini-arc reactor to bring him back to life after he died. Stane's reactor was in his suit, not his chest. I gues Stark's acted like a defribulator, and jump started him back to life.

That's very true. I forgot about that. And if he was able to make one in less than a week in that cave, he probably was able to whip a new one up in a matter of hours back in the states...

Hence the Irony of Iron Man evolves

Yeah, the ending had some problems. But I give Favreau credit, I enjoyed the movie so much I did not think about them until the credits rolled and went "wait a minute...."

So if it is that enjoyable I can forgive it.

That's a plausible explanation.

I just assumed Stark wasn't grounded as he let go of the sky structure and was blown clear of the main electrical discharge. It was just a giant release of electricity after all. Stane was encased in metal and was fried instantly.

From my vision, the activation of the reator would turn off the armos, and kill Tony, because it would turn off his chest generator also.

Pepper pressed the button and Iron Monger whas shut Down. Because of the weight of the armor, Stane fell and end up being fried by the reator.

you kno technically silver centurion was in it. when he has it repainted on the computer its red n silver before red n gold. check it out if u see it again

The arc reactor in his chest didn't flicker out. It simply flickered, and when the shot faded it out, you thought it looked like it flickered out but it didn't.

This is how I interpreted it. Basically Stane got fried and the irony is that Stark's suit running out of energy allowed him to live.
