Entourage: The Movie

I would love an Entourage movie....said 3 people.

This is going to bomb.

After seeing it last night, all I can say is "and rightfully so."

It comes off very much as a cash grab.

the only opinions about this im interested in hearing are from people who are fans of the show.

If youre not on board with the show I doubt you'll be on board for the movie

I find it funny for a show about making it in Hollywood none of the cast really did.

Just watch 4 good episodes back to back of the series. It is the same thing.

Finally someone says it. I'm seeing all these negative comments like "who asked for this" and "who thought it was a good idea". Well you know what? I did. I loved the show and stuck through the mediocre stuff, the end of the series promised a follow-up and i'm glad we're getting it. If it is indeed just an extended episode i'll be happy. Seems like all the negative reviews are people who didn't like the show. Their opinion means nothing to me

I do think they waited too long. 3 years to release the movie...especially after 3 mediocre/bad seasons?

Wasn't a smart move

I wanna see the cameos.

THought this was pretty good.
If youre a fan of the show I don't see why you wouldnt like it. It was great, a lot of "iffy" s***, but I'd watch it again.

Also was a WAAAAY better finale then what we got during the series run

I loved how the retconned that stupid marriage within 30 seconds of the film.

Me too.
In fact basically most of the things that fans didnt like from the final season were pushed under the rug.

Billy Walsh got his edge back, the marriage was done with, etc.

I wanna know what happened to Scott Lavin though. I kinda liked him didnt want a major role from Caan but a mention wouldve sufficed

Wait, did they actually address his marriage to Alice Eve or did they act like it never happened..?

Literally within the first minute they address that they broke up during the honeymoon. And she is never mentioned again after the, pretty obnoxious, opening credits

Same thing about Ari's wife turning into a devil the last 2 seasons. Within the first 5 mins it's addressed and they move on

It's kind of annoying how it suddenly became a fad to hate on this show.

the movie was hilarious

Drama & Ari stealing the show like always

loved all the cameos

Box Office Disappoints
Didnt expect it to do gang busters, but expected better.
They probably waited way too long to release it after 3 bad seasons.

Also this probably wouldve done better in late summer like August or September.
But I have a feeling this will be one of the most pirated movies this year. Which doesnt really matter much...

Anyway, this is the perfect end to the series so at least these numbers mean there wont be a sequel.

I feel bad for Adrian Grenier and Kevin Dillon though. Especially Dillon. They dont have s*** going on other than Entourage. Dillon has the talent to do something else decent on tv

Meh. It's mildly annoying but doesnt bother me much

I loved the show in it's earlier seasons (the season 4 opener WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE is, imo, one of the most gut bustingly funny episodes I've ever watched of any comedy series) but at some point, and this is the issue detractors have been bringing up, it became a lazy celebration and endorsement of some of the more obnoxious aspects and benefits of the entertainment business......benefits if you're a guy especially.

It became less of a comedy and closer to shallow male lifestyle porn/fantasy. Naturally the latter is reason enough many fellow 'bros' still defend it but, to my eyes, all it did was contradict and blunt it's comedic edge.

I never liked it. I tried watching it a few years back, but the characters just put me off. Most of the guys, especially Ari, are obnoxious as hell. Why that show lasted as long as it did on HBO (and got a full-blown movie) is beyond me.

Thank goodness Jeremy Piven has Mr. Selfridge to fall back on. Much better vehicle for his talent.

I actually think in the beginning it was a lot worse.

I like most of the show. Seasons 1-5. But especially seasons 1-4, it was kinda a show about d-bags.
Turtle= Freeloading d bag
Drama= Freeloading, angry d bag
Ari= Misogynist, racist, homophobic, rude d-bag

3/5 characters being that way ins necessarily good. But I forgave all that because it was funny to me and I really liked the Hollywood setting.
And honestly I can say that about a lot of comedy shows. If you actually look at a lot of comedy shows, most of the cast are very bad people. Honestly the characters of Entourage are very tame by most show's standards.

I think Entourage is a really good show especially once you get past the first season. And the chemistry is really good in the cast.

It had a really good run and people not liking it, especially people who didn't even watch much of the show means nothing to me. And honestly if they don't ike it I don't see why they keep talking about it I think that's such a lame thing to do.

Im not shocked by its low money take given they made this movie for a specific target audience who mostly moved on since the show ended. With any movie you have to broaden the appeal to a wide audience to maximize profits. You cant alienate most of the general audience to appease a smaller group. Not to mention most of these actors are no bodies except for piven yet there promoting like there A list comedians like the hangover crew.
