Entourage

He was rich and successful the first season and it wasn't boring. It'd be great to see the boys dealing with an even bigger celebrity status. Vince getting even more lazy and handing more decisions over to Eric, Eric trying to keep everything in line and getting overwhelmed by the pressure, Johnny getting really jealous with his brother for becoming the star he never was.

And Turtle finally getting a steady lay, outside of a hooker.

I was just thinking... The show is based off of executive producer Mark Wahlberg's early days in Hollywood. I wonder how much they're going to follow it... His movie in season one, Head On, looked pretty similar to "Fear." "Queens Blvd" could be based on Wahlberg's turn in "Boogie Nights." So, in my estimation, Vince's career is definitely going to head in the same direction Wahlberg did following the Anderson flick - UP. That is, unless they begin to deviate from Wahlberg's life.

Come to think of it, does that mean Johnny Drama might be based on Donnie Wahlberg? Just a thought...

alot of people think Drama is based on Donnie. but he says it has nothing to do with family!

I am noticing the parallel, especially with Vince being a more popular actor than Johnny, the same way Mark is more popular than Donnie(rhymes with Johnny?). Although I like them both as actors, I think Donnie's been more adventurous with the roles he's picked. He was totally unrecognizeable in The Sixth Sense, having lost so much weight and just looking completely deranged. For that brief amount of screentime, he gave a very good performance. Same with Dreamcatcher where he has to be a bit infantile but there's still a serious element there. And I really liked him on Boomtown(Dammit NBC!). To think, they could have both ended being the epitome of has-beens.

'Entourage' Hangs on for Third Season at HBO
(Saturday, July 16 08:03 AM)
By Rick Porter
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com)

With two fresh Emmy nominations and a buzz level that belies its rather soft ratings, HBO's comedy "Entourage" has earned a third season.
Chris Albrecht, president and CEO of HBO, announced the pickup Friday (July 15) during HBO's session at the TV Critics Association press tour. He says the deal was completed only a day or so before that, so he couldn't offer a lot of details.

He does say, however, that the pay-cable network will aim for "as many episodes as we can get" from the deal, with 13 probably being the minimum. The show is running for 14 episodes this summer, following an eight-episode first season.

"We'll see if [creator] Doug Ellin will hire some more writers," Albrecht says jokingly.
"Entourage" earned two Emmy nominations Thursday -- for Jeremy Piven's performance as shark-like Hollywood agent Ari Gold and for David Frankel's direction of the pilot episode.

The series, which follows a rising movie star (Adrian Grenier) and his group of friends/hangers-on as they navigate the showbiz world, has earned fairly strong critical praise and a devoted following -- albeit not a large one. It's averaging under 2 million viewers per week in its premiere slot this season, although HBO doesn't look just at ratings when deciding which shows to renew

What did everyone think of the episode? I thought it was great!

I missed it earlier, but it repeats in half an hour. I also want to say that having a huge obsession w/ Bai Ling, having her do her "scene" on one of my all-time favorite shows may have been the greatest moment in recent television history. That and when Ari threatened to choke Lloyd out with a strap-on.:D

A couple of friends, and a few people on other sites were saying that Billy Walsh is suppose to be PT Anderson! That scene was hilarious in tonight's episode, he shaved his head he was so nervous, and then when Ari comes up to him he says something like "Get the ***** away from me super suit I don't talk to you before a screening of my movie!"

Oh man, the whole thing with Drama and Turtle over crossing swords was hilarious. I saw the threesome coming from a mile away but was still laughing about it when it happened. Dillon is really good at playing a *****ebag as Drama. It's really funny watching him make an ass of himself.
And it's awesome that he got Aquaman, can't wait until next week.

I’m a big fan of the show as well. Mainly due in part to Jeremy Pevin. I don’t think I have ever seen him in anything I didn’t like. PCU was a really funny movie that doesn’t get a lot of play. I like his character in Old School.

One of my favorite Pevin performance moments is when he is cast as the TV George on Sienfeld. He also was very funny on Ellen. I’m glad he is getting such a great part on Entourage.

I’m really glad Vince got Aquaman. But seeing previews it looks like a lot more is going to play out before he lands the part. Then as mentioned the whole “how is the movie going to do” issue.

Another great episode tonight. I'll have to watch the episode again though, Sarah Carter really distracted me, she is just too damn hot!

The look on Drama's face when he realized she wanted both of them was priceless. Cameron's quote was great too. "F**king Harvey.....":D

I cant believe James Cameron was on this show. Frankly I'm amazed although I thought the scene were he called up Vince was a bit underacted. I thought they'd be alot more excited that he just got lead role in a guaranteed blockbuster. Gotta say, never figured Drama or Turtle to be the 3some with another dude types. I cant wait to see the episodes involving Aquaman preproduction and what becomes of Drama and the bullfighter!

The show is actually getting great buzz and very good reviews. As I posted above they are getting a third season eventhough ratings aren't threw the roof. Im sure the numbers will get better though.

I've watched this show since season 1. I didn't even know you guys had a thread about it! I hope it keeps coming after season 3.The 'Comeback' is meh at best. Does anyone know when 'Curb your enthusiasm' come back on? I love that show too!

Man, last nights episode was great. Im definately thinking Walsh is supposed to be Anderson. I mean, Anderson is known to shave his head before he makes a movie (so the head shaving thing could have been part of that). Piven and Dillon are my two favorite parts of the show. That episode where Drama was obsessed with his calves and he got caught staring at that dudes legs almost made me **** myself. I'm really hoping he does the bullfighter movie. Thatd be SO funny to see little clips of.

Anyways, I LOVE the show. Own first season, dedicated to the second. Can't wait to see wha happens with Aquaman.

You got that Boogie Nights / Queens Blvd. vibe too? That indie the new big actor takes that's gonna be a surprise hit. This is more based on Wahlberg than they want us to realize.

The more episodes there are the more it looks like it shadows Wahlberg's life. He probably just says it's not so he doesn't burn any bridges. Next week's episode looks to be good, another guest spot, this time Mandy Moore!

This past episode had one of my favorite Piven lines, something like "Were going to get drunk with Russell Crowe and head butt some goddamn kangaroos!"

I almost s**t myself when he said that. Ari Gold is a god among men.

Another great episode. I really dig Kevin Connolly's Eric, and I find him to be the most sympathetic and likable character on the show.

Turtle gave some great advice, you aren't "short, fat, and ugly," but "cute and cuddly" :D .

this new episode was pretty good, but well Vince's stubborn side really showed at the end. I was really disappointed in him. Any ideas who will be Aquagirl?

Well the previews for next week show them at Comic Con announcing Aquaman, so I think she still might be in. Next week looks great, they go to Comic Con for Aquaman, and it looks like Drama is dressed to introduce something for Viking Quest! Also they go to a U2 concert should be great!

Tonight had some pretty funny lines:

When Ari was told he isn't going to make the 40 under 40 list " Your not going anywhere, were going to take some family photos, you work for me now!"

Or when Drama said he got the audition for a Joe Mantegna movie Turtle says "Joe Montana is acting now?"

It was also great when Drama goes to the audition and it's the same people that he went off on last year (btw, the main casting guy is the shows creator)!

Drama beating that car with a golf club was great. In terms of Aquaman, I wonder if the question of Vincent's hair color will be brought up, next week could be the perfect time to bring it up with them going to the comic-con.

I was wondering that as well, next week sounds about right, I read that there is 6 more episodes still this season!
