Entourage

I can't wait for next season...this season (and season 3) have been very transitional seasons for the show. When this season ends, I expect Vince's career to be in total disarray. Medellin is bound to fail, and take down "Silo" with it. In turn both Billy and Vince are going to lose any credibility they have.

Meanwhile, Drama is becoming a major TV star and E is becoming a Hollywood powerhouse (he is producing and managing two of Hollywood's elite...I can only see him getting more clients). The finale in two weeks should open some interesting doors.

The finale is already coming up? Dayumn. Time flies. How many episodes does this season have?

I hope in another couple of seasons E and Ari wind up having a power struggle for high-end clients.

It will have had 12 as of the finale. June 2008 is likely when Season 5 will premiere.

I loved the look of shock on Ari's face when he learned E was representing Anna Farris. Still, I tend to think deep down inside, Ari is proud of E. Eric has been Ari's little protigee in many ways and I think Ari does in a weird way look at Eric (more than any of them) almost as a son.

He has to be. There's been a lot of growth with Ari as a character since last season;

*Rescuing Lloyd when that gay director wanted to make him his boytoy.
*Pretty much saving Lloyd's relationship (granted, he wanted Lloyd to come back to work, but still)
*Apologizing to the schoolboard head who was keeping his son out of private school
*Accepting his wife getting back into acting, and to a lesser extent, his initial jealousy over that in the first place.

So I can definitely see him taking pride in E for his accomplishments.

The show has had some real lame episodes in seasons 3 and 4, but last week's SILO episode completely reminded me of why I love the show so much. Absolutely CLASSIC, in every way, and also leading to a big turning point. God, I loved that four way phone call.

Yes, but to the point of potentially losing clients? None of those other things have interfered with his business except Lloyd's breakup, which you noted was due, at least in part, to Ari wanting Lloyd to come back to work. I don't think Ari's grown that much. ;)

I must say, that is the first episode of Entourage, I have ever HATED. It just felt like such a cheap episode. The characterizations were off, the plot was filler, and the deus ex machina ending was cheap.

I mean, first you Vince...he can be called a lot of things, selfish isn't one of them. The way he pressured E into lying to another client just seemed entirely out of character to me. It was unfair of Vince to put Eric in that position. I am honestly getting sick of the way Vince is constantly in Billy's corner and am just waiting for E to punch both of them.

Second, the entire plot, from beginning, to the end, where Kayne West just pops up and saves the day was ridiculous to me.

I actually liked the notion of E getting more clients and expanding as a character beyond Vince's gopher. It was a cheap, easy way to get rid of the plot that was unfair to the viewers. Just an all around "ugh" of an episode. It just felt like such a blah filler episode.

The only redeeming aspects were the Ari plot and the preview for next week.

The Anna Faris storyline ended rather abruptly I must say.

Hopefully next week's episode is better.

Damn it. I thought we'd start to see more of Anna Farris and possible E growing is management base.

You know, it ended so suddenly, I wonder if E could've been lying to Vince and Walsh to keep Anna off the project and keep waters calm until they finish selling Medellin?

excellent thought Matt, I was thinking that or he nailed her, they were kind of gazing at eachother intimately.

Its not as funny as it sounds.

It's not that it's funny, but you have to figure, the show has always had them running into celebrities, and establishing these casual friendships and stuff. It's silly, but it's not totally out of character. Realistically, I'm sure there would be logistical issues where it would be unlikely for them to just hop on any old plane and fly to Cannes (I assume a revised flightplan and passenger manifest would have to be submitted and cleared, and all that sort of stuff, right?).

Got to agree with Matt. One of the worst Entourage episodes I've seen. I did like the Kanye West thing, and I hope to god that that really wasn't the last we've seen of the Anna Farris subplot. Really crappy way to deal with that.

I really didn't find the episode bad, there are far worse episodes then this one. The Kanye West stuff was kinda annoying but that sort of stuff has happened before. As for the Anna Farris thing, you may have touched on something in another post. I thought and still believe that E told Vince that the Farris thing was over just so it made it look like he sacrificed a client and realationship for Vince and "Silo". Next week or season perhaps her and E will give it a go again. Something along those lines.

The thing about Vince and Billy and how VInce is always in Billy's corner is just a build up until Medeillen fails then Vince will be screwed.

Also Vince can be extremely selfish and stubborn when it comes to his career.

I gotta agree with Matt; this episode was just a bunch of plot conveniences stacked one on top of the other. The whole conflict with E, Vince, Billy, and Anna was so blatantly a "we only have Anna Faris for X number of shows so we've gotta write her out!" move that I cringed when E just casually mentions on the jet that she fired him. The one thing this show has always had its problems with is ending plots satisfactorily. Usually it was Turtle or Drama who were the victims, but now that E's branched out from Vince's shadow and started getting his own plot threads, he's apparently getting the same treatment.

The whole plot with Ari and his wife even grated on me. The time he saved Lloyd from that grubby director or producer, I bought. The time he begged Homer Simpson's voice to get his kid into that school, I thought was a bit hammy but I bought. Now I'm just starting to get sick of the kinder, gentler Ari every other episode. It's nice that he's got more than one side, but if you're really looking to develop the character, he's gotta have more than two sides as well. Alternating between angry, stressed out agent and loving-if-inept family man doesn't cut it past the first few episodes.

I just saw part of an episode since it usually on at my friend's house... May I say this... Any real actor would never... let me repeat this... ever pass up an opportunity to take a plane ride with Sydney Pollock to go chill with Kanye West, unless he was a complete idiot... which the central character may be...

He might if he had to sacrifice one of his friends' presence. Loyalty is a big theme on Entourage.

That's ******ed :( Sorry... But if my friend had that kind of oppertunity, I don't think it'd bother me...

It bothers Vince, though, and Vince is the one who's clearly holding everything up. Turtle and Ari were willing to stay behind.
