Entourage

**** "everybody loves raymond"....I'd sooner get kicked in the balls then watch that show

I'm sure when he gets re-introduced, the reaction will be the same and he'll be dead inside of 3 episodes

Or maybe that news changes his character because it gave him 'new perspective on life'... aka the writers have a better idea what to do with him than last time.

Technically it was cancelled but allowed to end. When I said ended I meant finish like The Shield and Everybody Loves Raymond has. Where they were done with the story and didnt want to continue.

I guess.....it is one of the most critically acclaimed shows ever...the ratings weren't great though.

It ran for four seasons and had an abbreviated fifth season that, judging from cerealkiller's comment, was probably something of a gift to the showrunners so they could tie up their loose ends.

HBO has been pretty brave with their TV series though...they can do a lot that others can't...Oz, Carnivale, Dream On, Sopranos, Sex and the City, all critically or commercially successful....

Carnivale got the rug yanked out from under it after just two seasons, unfortunately. I really loved that show. :(

HBO will let shows continue despite ratings....Entourage did horrible it's first season....and even a little into the second. Piven getting that nomination certainly helped.

Hadn't it been running for 5 or 6 seasons...that's respectable....

it was 4....with I think 10 episodes in the 5th season. I didn't start watching it till this past year, when I got the first season on DVD. Fell in love with it from there....bought the rest of the seasons over the past couple of months.

It was very suprising it never got any nominations.

I think a lot of it has to do with what is palatable to the viewing audience....Entourage got popular due to word of mouth and how easy it is to watch....Carnivale was not relatable at all....

Not one? I assumed it had, since I don't pay attention to that stuff. Geez, if ever you needed a reason to become cynical about the award process, there it is. The Wire was arguably the best show on television.

Sorry one for writing back in 2005, never for Best Drama.

Agreed 100%

They are apparently the worst, though. Any award process that doesn't recognize The Wire is better than just about anything else fails. :o

Im not trying to insult it. Arrested Development had critically acclaimed to but it suffered the same fate

OK, but how did they write out Dom that quickly if everything was already shot?

I mean the way the character is basically written, he comes off as a *****e bag that upsets the group but was never meant to hang around. It surprised me so much when I heard that, that I have trouble believing it.

They don't film the entire season before showing it.

I know this. But had they not even finished filming the next episode in the days after the bad reaction to Dom?

Dom just simply comes off as a character who was not meant to stick around.

Yeah, loved tonight's episode. Not a big fan of Chase and Drama tonight though, what freakin babies they are

Next week should be a lot of fun.

I look forward to seeing what they do with the Firefighting screenplay.
