Animation is crude, but concept is on. If it gets picked up, everything will be honed. Lord of the Rings producer Mark Ordesky is exec producer. Jake Drake on animation.

idea is good but the design/animation is no better than any other flash cartoon around.... how did it cost $40k (i know that sounds a bit rude but i mean it as a genuine question)

Over 1,000 hours of animation, studio for VO recording (and then re-recording), editor costs, production costs, character designs, plane tickets for talent to fly in and out, etc.

It's pretty legit. Turned down a 35k budget to make a superhero pilot with the animator a year or two ago. Glad I did. Got our own budget with our own LLC and production company to do things my own way. Animation's rough but it fits the story and style. Adult-Swim style story and characters.

In 2011, we're looking to do an animated feature film for a couple hundred grand. We know we can't do it with crude flash so we're likely teaming with Blowfish FX or another 3D animation group.
